Let me see if I understand the objective of the regular season correctly. The 32 teams stated objective before game 1 of the season is to win the SB is that not correct? Teams that do not win the SB no matter how many wins they have like NE 12 last year & Denver's 13 last year & Atl 13 last year do not matter since in the ultimate end just like us they were LOSER's. Now because we are such a inept team with a inept owner & HC we are praising ourselves tha t we won 6 games last year. Yessir to say that the NYJ nation has low expectations of what the NYJs can accomplish this & several seasons into the future is a real understatement of the reality of the situation when u say well we won 6 games last year like that is some kind of major achievement. IMHO that is a fan talking that never/ever experienced the thrill of victory as was the case in Jan 69.

BTW since the NYJ record from 1960 until end of 2012 season is under 500 I would guess your record since you have been a fan is also under 500 just like mine is

Sir U R completely incorrect. The BEST coach the NYJ organization ever had is WEEB EWBANK since he won us our ONLY championship. He was better then Tuna, Walton & whomever else you mention which BTW U left out of garbage coaches Holtz & Winner & actually Bellicheat as well as he was our HC for a day

When you're a defensive genius, and Rex really falls into that category, then it makes a lot of sense not to sabotage your own offense in the process of proving that.

Another head coach would probably be reining Rex in to some extent and making sure that OTA's and pre-season activities weren't essentially a massive ego-stroke for Rex as he prepared his defense for another top 10 finish.

BTW, the top 10 defense thing is important. That's what makes Rex really valuable as head coach even with the other warts that pop up now and then. Rex the Head Coach is going to need to figure out how to balance defensive preparation of his squad with the needs of developing a coherent offense.

The only offenses in the NFL that have looked remotely coherent over an extended period of time vs Rex's Jets defenses are Peyton's Colts and Brady's Pats. And with Brady's Pats the thing that has kept them consistent is that Belichik keeps shaking things up every year and changing the target areas.

Erm, why are people saying that Rex refused to bench Sanchez? He did bench him and he was reluctant because ALL THE OTHER QBS WERE WORSE. This is a fact that people can't grasp. You really think McElroy or Tebow would have put up big points against the Seahawks with the WR core we had? Nah, it's all Rex's fault! Blind loyalty! Big mouth! Blowhard!! *insert slander about rex here*. Ya'll are funny.

"Mark gives us the best chance to win." The part he didn't leave out was because McElroy and Tebow gave us no chance to win.

Granted, I wonder if Tebow running the ball more and maybe not turning the ball over quite as often would have done better. But he was clearly not a long-term option. Nor did he have huge money coming his way like Sanchez.

"You keep saying Sanchez was the problem, yet you don't want to give Rex a chance with the newly drafted qb."

Yes, Sanchez was/is the major problem, but who puts him in there? Rex Ryan. As Sanchez was leading the league in turnovers two years in a row, who constantly chirped "Mark gives us the best chance to win." Rex. Who is giving most of the first team reps right now to old butt fumble himself. Rex. If Rex is the genius you say he is, explain why he has stuck with Sanchez 10 times longer than any other coach with a brain would--maybe it's the Sanchez tattoo he has. You apparently don't want to assign any blame to Rex for constantly trooping out the worst QB on the planet and trying to convince himself and the world that "Mark gives us the best chance to win." Keep telling yourself that, Rex, and maybe your tatoo won't look so stupid. In your view a stupid coach who refuses to bench a guy who stinks for whatever reason bears no responsibility? Feel free to respond on how Rex apparently in your view did the right thing by staying with Sanchez--After all, Mark gives us the best chance to WIN!
