Good post people (including me) need to be realistic and fair. The Jets are a 5 -6 win team in 06'. New rookie H/C and a whole new staff will take time to jell and learn the system that Mangini wants to employ. Some of us here are predicting 8 wins or more which I feel isn't realistic when you look what the F/O and coach are rebuilding this team. This is a 2 yr rebuilding job look to 07' for the D/L to be addressed and a playmaking W/R to br added as well.

Uhm, hate to say it, but you can actually win a division with an 8- 8 season. Especially in the AFC east... But besides that, i think all of you guys are being truly homers. There is no way the jets are going to be even remotely competive this season. The only thing were going to compete in, is next years lottery. Look for a 5 - 11 finish, with 3 wins at the end of the season. Too many rookies, no QB, (If you think penninton is worth more then a paper weight after 2 shoulder injuries, think again. WHy do you think he renegotiated. He can't believe he's still gonna get paid. And ramseys a walking rubber, nuff said.), 1 decent wide reciever that we dont know if we want to keep or not. Baker? Too many dropped balls. The only way he ever made any catches is when he was the 5th option. Doug Jolly? Fabini was a better tight end. I think we had an awesome draft, where we will be set, in a few years. But not now.

But it would be great if im wrong.

Let me get this straight, you take what is possibly the best center prospect in the last 10 years and plug him into the LG slot, out of position, in his rookie year?

Have you completely lost your marbles or is this just a momentary lapse?

I think we need to start molding the defense a bit if we can sign a few more. At that point I think we might be able to compete.

I think you're as pessimistic with your 5-11 season as others are optimistic with their 10-6 predictions. Our schedule is relatively easy and we have healthy people coming back off a horrendous year riddled with injury. Training Camp will be much more productive and we still have a chance of picking up veteran, last-minute talent to fill a few more needs. I see 8-8 and possibly 9-7.

New coach. New sysyem. New learning curve. Despite a relatively easy schedule, I think a 7-9 season is the best we can hope for. The QB situation will dicatate a lot. No Pennington, a crappy Ramsey, and a not ready Clemens could mean another 3-4 win season.

    Im not being pessimistic.

Sep 10 @Tennessee 1:00pm - Loss "First game With rookies", young runs amok.
    Sep 17 New England 4:15pm - Loss
Sep 24 @Buffalo 1:00pm - win "Bills are still bad"
    Oct 1 Indianapolis 1:00pm - loss
    Oct 8 @Jacksonville 4:05pm - loss
Oct 15 Miami 4:15pm - win "culpper probally aint back yet."
Oct 22 Detroit 1:00pm - Loss. With Mike Martz not being able to call time outs, they will win games.
    Oct 29 @Cleveland 4:15pm - win
    Week 9 BYE - win!
    Nov 12 @New England 1:00pm - Loss
    Nov 19 Chicago 1:00pm - Loss
Nov 26 Houston 1:00pm - loss Kubiak is gonna turn that team around instantly.
Dec 3 @Green Bay 1:00pm - loss -Favre still mad at 2003 game.
Dec 10 Buffalo 1:00pm - win, i just dont see jp losman winning.
Dec 17 @Minnesota 1:00pm - Brad johnson has Vikings poised to clinch wild card
    Dec 25 @Miami 8:30pm - loss.... Merry f-ing xmas. Culppepers back.
Dec 31 Oakland 1:00pm - we will win again just to lose a good draft position.

No matter how easy a schedule is, you still have to play em.

You're being really, really generous to Houston, Green Bay, and probably Tennessee.

I think we can win against Buffalo, Miami, Detroit, Houston, Oakland, and an upset in Minnesota. Of course, being in Chicago, I hope we smoke the Bears!

6-10 with a good finish and a healthy Chad at the end would be ok by me.

8-8 would be a dream come true for me. We would be set to compete for the playoffs in 07'. Having said that, I don't expect that many wins.

I honestly expect us to be similiar to the Cleveland Browns of last year. They went 6-10, but finished on a good note. 6-10 would not be bad guys considering all of the turnover going on with this team. I will root for them no matter what, but don't expect a winning record.

I think starting out with a win against Tennessee would be nice and ending the season with a few W's would be good for the teams morale as well. Just because we aren't set to go for the superbowl doesn't mean we can't be excited.

We will be competitive but I would expect 6-8 wins next year, the offensive line needs time to jel, and the defense needs time to get used to playing a 3-4, we will probably look bad early in the season and look better at the end

Houston? They have had all the parts for 3 seasons. I think kubiak is gonna have there lines working no problem, and you wont see 70 + sacks on carr this season, let alone 50. Give carr 2 seconds more in the pocket, and its a way different team. Green bay? Jets AT greenbay, very tough to win especially in december. And well cleveland is tthe typical jets game we should of won, but either nuggy missed the extra point or we have a fumble returned on us ala herm edwards. Tennesee? I think its just gonna be mike vick just making us look sloppy.

Right now we're looking at a wide open range of possibilities. The Jets could have real problems still at QB, RB, NT or DE and have a 6-10 type season or they could get good years out of one of the QB's, Martin, D-Rob and KVO and win 10 to 12 and make the playoffs.

My best guess is that they win 8 or 9 games and the first stage of the rebuilding process is a resounding success. That's what I would be happy with next season. I wouldn't be crabby about 6-10 as long as the problems came from the expected tangents above. Rebuilding is rebuilding.

I think we will do a whole lot better than last year when the entire team just gave up. That being said it really depends on the HCs on how hard this team will play(thats one reason they drafted team leaders and players who love the game, are tough and of high character to hopefully rub off on the ones their for a paycheck) Lets face it, they Quit on Herm early. That being said we may lose some close games and I would be allright with that as long as they play till the whissel is blown. As long as we improve in all areas I could live with a subpar record being a new system, new coaches and all. As long as they play veryhard the record don't matter this year but they must improve and buy into the system.
