Can we afford the 6th pick?

    I think it is a forgone conclusion he will be gone, and there might be another surprise dismissal before all is said and done.

    If the Raiders can afford their #4 pick while being about $20 million over the cap, I think we (who are still under) will be fine

    This is the one problem I find with the NFL's salary cap.Money is given to the player picked according to his slot where he was drafted. Mine you that player hasn't played 1 down of professional football. Yet as in Russell's case last year the Raiders had to guarantee him $33M. Now on the other hand he we have Rhodes our saftey being paid a little over $900K foe this year. Here's a guy (who should be a pro bowl selection :beer:) who has proven himself. The league needs to somehow address this problem in the next collective barganing agreement with the players association.
