Unfortunately, Becton and Mims, our first two picks lmao. Don’t have the right attitudes to be professional. Sucks. Bad bad character judgements from JD. Really bad.

needs to have a time run off season. Another 4 wins next year and he’s gone.

Love that Saleh put Becton on notice, isn't handing him the starting LT job despite his draft status, and acknowledged how Fant has earned the right to keep that spot. I hope they can bring Moses back, but I could definitely see Okwonu being their top pick if not.

I trust his talent and potential enough to not just dump him for whatever offer comes around. I'd rather deal with risking him wash out, if the alternative is a mid round pick. If someone comes offering a high first, or multiple firsts, we can talk. I know its PFF so we take it with a grain of salt, but I believe Becton's rookie year was better than what Fant did last year (and Fant was pretty damn good). So I'm willing to roll the dice on Becton turning it around.

Having said that, I dont trust him enough to not go into the season with a serious contingency plan. I thought the Jets did a great job this year in that respect. I dont think they necessarily signed Moses as Becton insurance, but he was a solid backup plan in case the tackle position didnt work out.

I'd be OK with them re-signing Moses and drafting a tackle somewhere after day 1. I dont think I'd lose sleep if they draft one of the stud OTs at 4, but I'm not sure thats necessarily where I'd go.

When is the last time a coach didn't tell a young player that he would have to earn his spot. Off season headline I guess.

Great move by Saleh. It puts Becton on notice that he better shape up...literally.

I think you're misreading the situation.

I hope the Fant news is true. Extending him most likely lowers his cap hit this season and he played great. Cutting our losses early on Becton would be a very wise move. Maybe he can be useful on the right side or at the very least, insurance on the left.

If true, this indicates that JD is going defense with pick 4.

I just read this blurb again and holy shit about the Becton being over 400 lbs reports. The guy legitimately needs to lose 50+ lbs if that's true, all while coming off a knee injury. I think he has a serious eating addiction.

Am I crazy or did it come out that he was seeing a therapist for an eating addiction like two days after the draft?

My gut tells me this is being overblown a bit. You have guys in the playoffs who start on OL that are 6th round picks I heard last weekend. What I am saying is you can't just let Becton go. I think they just have legit concerns that he will ever stay healthy again for a full season. I mean he's 400+ lbs, nobody could. They need to draft a capable LT/RG combo backup who can also start. Maybe it's neal? Maybe it's the kid from Northern Iowa. Crazy as jets fans we deal with this.

Where did you see this? That is not good news at all if that is true.

I think that's correct, and he failed the combine drug test presumably for weed. Seems like a classic weed/eating combo problem.

I don't care whatsoever if he likes to smoke but it becomes a problem when he eats himself out of a job because of it.

The quoted item in BroadwayZach's post above mine.

If Becton is over 400lbs then we have to draft a OL, Jesus

The last time we had a semi competent o-line was the last time we won 10 games. Six years with a shaky o-line is way to long.

love it. i'm good with rant at LT and becton at RT both locked in for years. this probably eliminates neal or ekwonu from the discussion at 4 as well. Our line IMO is good except for RG and maybe a depth payer or 2. if we address RG in free agency then we won't need to worry about the line.
I really want to address the defense early in the draft
