Ambition, challenge, gut feeling? The Browns are not a glamour team (i'll try and force this out) but Miami are. Miami will be up and running about the same time as us , and how long will the Pats be dominant?
Not to mention location. Would you rather work in South Beach, or the Mistake by the Lake? Also, Crennel knows from experience how good Parcells is at "shopping for the groceries." I think that's enough to make any HC consider working under him
Well, they've won 3 SBs in 6 years. And they're looking pretty strong right now. Brett Favre is 38, Brady is only about to turn 31 next year I believe. I'd say he has at least 3 great years left, and then will slowly begin to decline. He sat his freshman and sophomore years at Michigan, and his rookie year in the NFL. He's relatively fresh for a 31 year old and is never being sacked. With the way they draft, I think it's safe to say they will be better than Cincy or the Ravens for quite some time, and most likely the Steelers as well. It doesn't make sense from a logistics standpoint for a coach to go from a potential division winner to the worst team in the NFL, regardless of how ambitious you are. Yeah, I'd have to think ol' Romey fancies himself sitting pretty in Cleveland. He's worked at the Giants, Pats, and now Cleveland so I'm not so sure he is a big fan of sun bathing.
What??? That would mak any Hc run the other direction much like it made Belichick squirm out of here. Parcells' track record is not very good, he's had a few really good moves but overall he's done a medicore at best job. His '97-'99 drafts were an embarrassment, the '00 draft was Al groh's draft and the only good draft we had when BP was part of this organization. he also left us w/ a terrible cap situation. he's a mediocre at best GM.
First off, Parcells has NEVER won anything without Bill Belli as his defensive coordinator. As a GM, he will build a solid but not spectacular team. He will focus on special teams first (that's the easiest to fix) and then go into the trenches. Their offense is horrible and their defense is getting VERY old. They have to do a complete rebuild. Now as for coaches, the thing that makes great coaches are great QB's. Every great coach (with only one exception, Gibbs) has won with a H.O.F. QB. Once that QB retires, it's amazing how average these "Great" Coaches becomes. Now that all being said, who will Miami have as their QB? Until they find somebody that can get the job done, they don't frighten me. They are at least 3 years away form contending. Parcells is a master motivator but as a player personnel evaluator, he's middle of the pack. I see Miami being a solid team that doesn't make mistakes, plays hard and is always in the game with a chance to win at the end. It's the same thing that he did with the Jets and with Dallas. No more, no less.
