Who cares Tebow was great college player and college QB. He had talent around him but he still performed good for Tebow. It still does not make him an NFL talent level QB.
Tebow is Rex Grossman/Kordell Stewart with a much better college career. No shame in that. His NFL legacy is simply one of mediocrity and skills that were underdeveloped in his amateur years. His followers will struggle with that becuase they thrive on the "I told you so" moments that may never come again for poor Timmy!
Ouch!! http://espn.go.com/blog/new-york/jets/post/_/id/21367/polian-tebow-not-an-nfl-quarterback ESPN NFL analyst Bill Polian shoveled some dirt on Tim Tebow during an appearance on SportsCenter Tuesday morning: "Tim Tebow's time with the Jets is over. His time as an NFL quarterback is probably over. If I were a general manager I'd say to Tim Tebow, If you want to come in here and you want to play running back, you want to play H-back, you want to play tight end and contribute on special teams, there's a job for you, because Tim Tebow's a football player. But he's not an NFL quarterback, and his days as an NFL quarterback are probably over." Tebow is fighting a losing war here. He can stay at QB and fail. In part because he doesn't have the skillset for NFL QB, and he's not going to find a team that will give him the kind of committment needed to work around his apparent weaknesses and limitations, namely passing. Most would just continue the search to find someone that can hit the broad side of a barn. Or he can make the switch and likely extend his career, but as some have stated in earlier threads, many of his fans will feel that he sold out and gave in. Easy for them to say when they don't have an NFL career regardless, but that seems to be the attitude from his fanbase, that he's a QB, should stay a QB, and go down with the ship if he doesn't make it. Then again, Tebow is reportedly making a lot of money just doing speeches at big churches. Doubt he needs the NFL anymore either way.
No matter how it shakes out, what he accomplished in college and 2011 will always be there. I don't see how things will get any better than that for him. Rather than blame others and pine over what could have been, his fans should celebrate what he did, accept that not everyone is impressed with it and enjoy his post football endeavors.
