Cam Cameron is only the answer to the question "who don't I want as Jets OC?" I'm hoping 2013 isn't a Ravens reunion. Things have moved on, get me some West Coast exponent.
didnt he just get fired from a successful playoff bound team a few weeks before the end of the season because he forgot about running the ball or getting it in his best players hands? yeah he did. i would let him go elsewhere.
Would be pretty off putting if the Ravens go to the super bowl and we hire the guy they fired with 3 games left in the season. Won't look good.
Yeah, the guy who got fired because he couldnt utilize Ray Rice, one of the best weapons in the NFL. To add onto that, he also has a great deep threat in Smith and very good receiver in Boldin. You honestly think this guy is our answer with the talent we have? Please tell me how a guy who cant utilize talent is the answer meanwhile we need a coach who can bring out the best in the untalented group we have.
Herm Edwards tried to recreate Tampa Bay North when he brought in the vaunted "Cover Who?" Remember how that worked out? Ryan, being completely ignorant of how ti implement a modern NFL offense, is grapsing at any straw within reach. Naturally, he'll gravitate towards the familiar even if the connection is in a name. Cam was the OC of the Ravens and got fired during the season. Of course, Ryan would be comfortable with this as he was a Raven once. Nevermind that Cam's system was so dysfunctional that he got fired during the season and the Ravens haven't lost a step and perhaps even improved considering they matched Manning and the Broncos until they overtook them in double OT.
Exactly. Very well put, couldn't have said it better myself. Cam Cameron is an awful offensive playcaller. He gets away from his best players and from things that are working well for no reason. I want Hue Jackson. The Raiders had the #6 ranked offense with him as OC in 2010 with Jason freaking Campbell and Bruce Gradkowski at QB. Then in 2011 with Jackson as head coach they were 4-2 when Campbell got hurt and Carson Palmer came over from Cincy after sitting on his couch all summer and Jackson's offense still finished 16th in the league. Also should be noted that Darren McFadden had the two best years of his career under Jackson.
We already had a Cam Cameron, his name was Brian Shottenheimer. Any asshole who gets fired for not using Ray Rice can move on.
I mean it could work but then again we know should know better no matter who we hire, we're not going to like it, thats our MO
Smple answer. He can't utilize talent and that's ok because we don't have any talent to utilize. It's a perfect fit.
Wow. Pull stuff outta yer ass much? Rice had 257 carries this year. That's sixteen carries a game. Possible that Cameron went away from RR in certain game situations when it would have made sense to get him the ball, but it's not like the guy was grossly under utilized. Don't know if Cameron's a good fit here, obviously wasn't a good fit in B'more, but he is a capable OC. That's pretty much undeniable.
Apparently the Jets are speaking with Cam Cameron today. I heard it on ESPN radio on the way to work. Not a bad choice at all. I'd be happy about that, but in reality how do they hire an OC without a GM first? I guess it beats waiting and missing out. Did Turner take a job anywhere yet? He's probably the only guy I'd take as OC over Cameron. And for all those bitching, the ravens are superbowl contenders every year. 2 AFC games in a row, and I don't think they'll blow this one. Funny the last 4 years, Sanchez or Flacco have been in the AFC title game each year. Their offense has come a long way, it isn't just the defense that runs the team anymore. Cameron would be better than Schotty and WAY better than Sparano.
