This is why we need to stop overhyping our rookies. As soon as they make a good play we start claiming they're the best. I don't know which fan base is more guilty of this, Jets fans or Knicks fans.
This is what hurts the most, regardless of how Pryor turns out. A safety just seems like a luxury pick at this point with this team.
Safety was not a luxury pick. Landry should not be starting. That said, he doesn't seem to be living up to where we drafted him
You hit the nail on the head. And all of this was known pre-draft. He was not good in coverage in college. Good luck next week against Peyton & Co. He was a wasted pick. We needed receivers and corners, not a safety who flies all over the place missing his torpedo tackles and looking clueless.
That's his game though. He's a human missile with a faulty guiding system. When he's on target, it's thing of beauty, but when he misses there's a lot of collateral damage.
Not yet a bust, but so far Pryor has not been playing up to his draft status. Going forward I can't imagine Ryan is satisfied with Pryor's approach to the game.
What did you guys anticipate? He didn't just start being primarily an in the box guy, who hits big but will take poor tackling angles and/or miss tackles once he put on the green and white. Those were the pros and cons in his scouting report. So far he's shown the good and bad.
"This young man is an enforcer. He reminds me of a guy (Jack Tatum) I used to watch play." -Rex Ryan Hahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahaha (Clinton Dix)
