I'm pretty much on target there, though I think as far as pure speed goes, Jarrett and Rice may be a bit faster; though in my mind, CJ's 40 really doesn't matter to me much at all. I think these top 3, Jarrett, Rice, and CJ are all going to be terrific players with the right coaching, all have best WR in the league talent.

Imagine the big play possibility with Brad Smith & Calvin Johnson... woo!

With Cotchery being the possesion reciever./

I can picture it now; reverse to Brad Smith, bomb to Calvin Johnson

What do you guys think the chances are that Rice comes out this year? I like him a lot as a prospect, but he is only a RS Sophmore...

  5. I like all 3 as well. But Rice scares me alil bit, as many forget, Spurrier has a habit of making decent WR's look like all pro's in college, and when they get to the NFL...they are completely average(IE Travis Taylor, Ridell Anthony, etc).

WHen I look at Rice, I see great size and agility.. but what scares me is most of the plays he makes, are when he is absolutely wide open. Could he just be another product of Spurrier?

I don't know, because hand in hand with the Spurrier offense is usually a QB that has it mastered (namely a guy like Wuerfful, who had Anthony and Jacuez Green looking like all americans). At SC, he has Blake Mitchell, who, while solid, is not a QB who's really shown a control over the system, esp. not early last year. Rice may benefit from being apart of it, which is why he so quickly adjusted to the college game (plus he's a year older than his school year), but that's not all. Rice runs terrific routes, and has great hands, I don't see him as the type of boom or bust talent that Anthony/Green/Taylor were.

I think there's a very good chance of it if he puts up huge numbers again. Two years of great production is a gold mine for a WR come draft time. Plus, the risk of a serious injury at a position like Wide Receiver is way too glaring to ignore; a broken leg or torn acl for them could cost them 2 seasons (see Tyrone Prothro).

    Exactly 40 is overrated.
    Jerry Rice? Anquan Boldin?

Who cares this kid can flat out play!

We desparately need some height and he has got it. Imagine him catching the ducks that Chad throws...

thats why he would be a perfect fit for us, he can go up and get it, i dont think peterson is the way to go seeing as barlow is around, i think that this is the one. seeing as we went o line this year next is time for playmakers

Considering how potentially deep both WR and RB are in next year's draft, it looks like the Jets picked the perfect year to look for offensive playmakers to add to their team. They can't go wrong with taking RB or WR in the 1st, and waiting untill the second to adress the other.

If it came down to one or the other, I would go with Peterson (though Johnson wouldn't be a bad choice). I'd just rather have the franchise back who can do everything than a superstar wideout.

Besides, history tells us that alot of very good/great wideouts arent all first round picks. Chad Johnson was a second round pick, Steve Smith third, T.O. a third, Derrick Mason a fourth, Coles a third, etc.

If we had a shot at Adrian Peterson, we better take him. If he is gone and Calvin Johnson is available, take him.

Like AnyGivenSunday said, if we had the chance to draft a potential superstar, franchise RB, we should take him.
