Dan Henning was fired last offseason. He's picking tomatoes and playing shuffleboard today.

No, he wasn't fired for ranking #1 in yardage, he got the team to the Super Bowl with that. He got fired after Gannon missed over half the season and the defensive "stars" wanted him out.

Love him or hate him, you can't ignore the fact that the guy has produced offensively everywhere.

Ya know what, we have got to be THE most stupidest team in America to hire this guy.

I humbly admit my lack of knowledge on the panthers..... I didn't know he was fired last season...... but he is still regarded as a great OC, from the "one of Bill' Guy's" kind of school of coaching......agreed?

This would be interesting. I didn't think he got a fair shake in Oakland.

I find it funny that you use a term like "THE most stupidest" when questioning someone else's intelligence.

Cool...a head coach as our OL coach can't hurt...

Schottenheimer Jr. and Callahan...kinda like Bush and Cheney...hmm

If he gets the job, don't be surprised if he's lured in with the Running Game Coordinator/AHC/O-line coach combination title.

That poster was trying to be funny but he messed up the Callahan quote. Callahan did not call his 2003 Raiders team "the most stupidest team in America". He called them "the dumbest team in America."

I agree, and personally I think it'd be a good move to entice him. The guy never got much of a fair shake in Oakland (didn't help himself with the press, but whatever) and was a great OC while there.

I Remember Callahan with the Raiders , He wasnt bad at all. I Think he'll help our running game and O Line. Lets see what happens would be a nice pick up though.

I am more worried about the players we have in 2008 than the coaches...

Are you guys really so worked up about the offensive line coach? Do you really think it will make any difference who the coach is if the Jets keep letting OL talent get away? (Think: Pete Kendall, Jason Fabini, Kareem MacKenzie, etc.)

The coach won't matter if we don't have the talent.

Not true. If there's one unit where exceptional coaching helps a great deal it is the OL.

Can't go wrong with this move. Anytime a team can get a former head NFL coach as an asst. on there staff....is a great thing.:breakdance::up:

Callahan had horrendous teams in Oakland following the Super Bowl. He wasn't really a college coach. I'm sure he can only help the OL, not hurt it. Everyone calm down.
