- Wrong. Just because you say so inside an arbitrary, self-serving narrative does not make it so. Besides, this thread's OP had nothing to do with "politics" - irrelevant bordering on non-sequitur in this case... - Such as California's already strict, comprehensive gun control laws? - So what 'real efforts' would you suggest Elmo from Elmhurst? Ooooh, major burn there Vasgo Ralebirdo de Balboa https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/California_station_(CTA_Blue_Line) Point taken - I was for the most part addressing the "Cali dull" and "Cali sucks" gist of the OP. The 'immigrant' comment was a tête-à-tête sidebar of sorts to your comment. From the days of Arrested Development ("Tennessee") to crunk, snap & trap, indeed "da A" has an impressive hop/rap legacy. I was referring to you being the only one who "liked" Brook's "California as dull" OP which I totally didn't get, i.e. Atlanta 'vibe' vs. Cali 'jive'
"Hey, Joe, where you goin' with that gun in your hand?" My opinion is not wrong simply because you disagree with it. It's probably never even crossed your mind that you could be the one with the faulty opinion. There may be laws in California aimed at preventing such things, that doesn't mean they are appropriate, efficient or enforced enough to produce the desired result. Laws are enacted for a purpose; if they don't result in accomplishing that purpose it is not a signal to abandon all hope of enacting and enforcing effective legislation. What would I do is not the question unless I'm elected or appointed to a position charged with such things. In the meantime I would suggest that enforcement has been extremely lax in tracing down the origin and trail of controlled weapons to those who use them maliciously. The getaway driver outside the bank is responsible for the same crimes committed by those inside; why isn't the supplier of the guns (and everyone else in the chain of illegal custody) charged with the same murders the actual shooter is? What "real efforts" would you take, Joe, to stop such killings? Or are you fine with the status quo - I don't see you criticizing it.
I know I have been tempted a few times when I get stuck behind a cyclist going 10mph for miles, riding right in the middle of the road so I can't get passed
Love SF and areas north and east not called Oakland. I think it would be a tough place for a senior to live so unlikely to relocate any time soon.
I'm not sure, I was going up a mountain road with no way to pass and got stuck behind a group of about 100, probably a good thing I didn't have a knife. Can't remember but this may have actually been in Cali
My great-aunt had a rent-controlled apartment in Japantown. She'd been living there since the 40's so some silly low rent. That's the way I could live in SF now. However those apartments are like generations long lists.

My family and roots in NE but 2 trips to Cali back in 2000 convinced me I would very much enjoy the lifestyle there ..LA is an Entertainment Capital plus 60 degree weather , surfing, great restaurants Just gotta join Larry David's Country Club and I would set lol Now that Earthquake thing?? (some second thoughts after the Turkey shocker)
Los Angeles has lost a lot of soul since 2000... the bullshit covid response accelerated the slide. But it seems to be getting better... no thanks to the idiots in charge.
