I'm not sure that anyone thinks it's the great move since sliced bread. I think we are just happy that it's most likely an upgrade over Harrison on the field, and should help the cohesiveness of the OL and help Sam in a lot of ways. You're right. He could have every intention of playing the whole year and think he can still play at a high level, and may discover that his body is shot, and just can't do it, or he could go down with a serious injury at some point. Hopefully, that isn't the case, but if it is, hopefully Sam, Harrison, Toth and the other C they just signed will learn from Kalil and it will help the Jets.
Might want to change the station. Philly is loaded at almost every position, CB is their weak spot. There were a bunch of fan post when Douglas first arrived here suggesting trades with Philly, I'm guessing who ever your listening to is still running with that.
Thanks... that was awhile ago.... unfortunately I've torn up a bunch of other body parts since then.... yes, getting "old" sucks. I realized why 99% of athletic careers come to a screeching hault at 40
https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/washington-redskins/trent-williams-6513/# This year and next year under his current deal, although I could see them restructuring to add a third year to spread the money a bit. The cap hits aren't light considering his age.
This is exactly what both Sam Darnold and Le'Veon Bell deserves. An experienced Center with All-Pro knowledge/I.Q. A quality starting Center who can read opposing defenses and help a young Sam Darnold with communication up front. Both USC alumni; he's going to fight like a dog in the trenches for our 2nd year QB. And an NFL Center who's made a living off of being a road grader. With Le'Veon Bell's rare patient style behind the L.O.S; having a road grading Center in front of him is going to be so much fun to watch and see unfold. K.O @ Guard & Kalil @ Center? Our O-Line play is going to perform much better than years past. And Darnold/Le'Veon will benefit because of it.
Gase is getting absolutely zero credit for this turnaround and I hate it. He’s set a great tone for us.
