Manish is the one who said and still says Gase didn’t want to spend big on a center so I’ll go with Rapoport.
I disagree. Regardless of how much his play has fallen off, he's still better than Harrison can dream of being.
Thanks! I knew that Morse had some concussions in the past, but hadn't heard that he had already suffered a concussion in the Bills' TC.
Big difference between what you posted and what the other guy had to say. I mean, really big difference.
Damn love the move Really no downside 1 year deal, incentive based, we have the cash USC alum Leader, vet, teacher and oh yeah....an upgrade!!! This is what it’s all about. Always turning stones. Love our new GM. Surround the young QB on rookie deal with vets, get him up to speed, give him support, then when he gets monster deal at least he is ready to try and carry the team. This is like signing 10 solid vet baseball players to the young roster ! Hah
If this was a under 30 version of RK, I'd be excited. The dude is 34, retired for a reason, I hope he gives us a good year but I can't jump on that bandwagon until I see results. I'm surprised so many are so thrilled about this signing. Hope it works out.
Kind of a awkward feeling, no? Ha I just turned 34 myself on the 30th of July. Yikes! Getting old already feels lame. Damn, Jets. Always bringing me down some way, some how. Haha
I see where you are coming from, but remember, nowadays a lot of guys are retiring from the NFL to avoid any further damage or stress on their bodies. It's not always because they have nothing left or are injured. I get your point, but maybe he retired and wanted to just give his body a break and spend time with his family. $8 million and a young QB brought him back for another year.
Just having his presence on the line and being able make the correct calls and signals to help Sam is more than enough IMO. We don't need him to be a top 5 center in the league. Just be somewhere in the middle and his brain and knowledge of the game will be plenty.
At this point in the game this is a great deal. I don't think many were confident in Harrison being the guy at center. Yes Kalil as retired and had injuries the past few years but this is football. Everyone gets hurt , but moreso can you still contribute while gutting it out. You're not getting a star guy at this point but consider that Kalil is a veteran center that most likely solidify the line. Joe D won't leave a stone unturned and that's what you want out of your GM. And for Sam's development, it's all about putting him in the BEST chance to succeed. Great job Joe
Well my math was off, July 30 is my birthday as well. Gets harder and harder to keep it all straight in my old age.
Fuck it. Let’s call up Gonzalez to play TE for 4 games. I’m sure he’d defer his bust in the hall for the Jets.
