i should have specified "run blocking" a big reason for halls average is uzo. he's had some key blocks. also if you expect any TE to block parsons 1v1 you are crazy. that would make kittle and kelce trash too. no TE is blocking parsons. most OT can't. trent williams is probably the best LT in the game right now, and I watched myles garrett throw him around like a rag doll. doens't make him trash
I don't think so at all. Uzomah is awful as a receiver, he's probably a negative honestly. He’s so slow in and out breaks (not saying Ruckert is this incredible route runner, but he was pretty solid receiving TE in college) His All22 tape pops in run blocking and I think we can get way more out of him as a pass catcher than Uzomah so hopefully out of the bye we see a swap there.
Somebody's getting the X's and O's right on defense considering what we just did against the Eagles without our starting corners, and unless Ulbrich is some secret guru, Saleh's playing a big part in it.
I haven't been a big Saleh fan, but on the subject of "starting slow" I'd like to offer this: The Jets have had Coaches in recent times (and in distant times) that could come out with a great gameplan and look like world-beaters for a little while. It never lasted-- not for whole seasons, and often not for whole games. For example: very often, Rex Ryan's defenses looked like the best outfit in the world until halftime, when the other team made some adjustments and stopped just having 3-and-outs. Part of that had to do with having a paper thin roster with a bunch of "star" starters, and practice squad backups-- another part, in my opinion, was that those Jets' Defense showed their whole hand up front and didn't adjust. Of course, what the hell were they supposed to adjust to when they had seen nothing but abject failure from their opponents in the first half? But the opponent sure got to see what needed adjusting. I'll take the current situation over that anytime--though it does stink starting our offense in a hole every time, when playing catch up is what they're worst at.
The jets offense could be so much better by just benching Cook, Uzomah and especially, especially, Randall Cobb.
One pair of fascinating stats is that we have the second lowest blitz percentage and the highest hurry percentage. Sent from my SM-S906U using Tapatalk
Ugh, the Cheats game. Coming out flat often enough is a head scratcher. And maddening. IlNo sense of urgency, I don't get it. That's been the Jets m.o. since forever, though. It's not exclusive to Coach Saleh. "Can't wait" gives me PTSD for example. I think a big issue with Saleh is that his coaching can be somewhat disjointed and schizophrenic. You never know which guy you're gonna get on game day, Robert Saleh or Boris Karloff as The Mummy. I mean the part when Karloff wakes up in a sarcophagus after a few thousand years and then drags himself around in a stupor. I do like that he's been barking at the shitty fix refs, though. Does that count towards a grade improvement?
I’ve heard rumors that coaches, on occasion play a certain way early in games to set up plays later in games. Some people say Adams was able to get that important pick bc he’d been blitzing earlier so when he faked and dropped back, Hurts wasn’t expecting him there….. coaching stuff.
all jokes aside, blake is playing lights out. always had high hopes for him but he couldn't stay healthy
