a few points its early, so Mariotta and Winston could drop ( Mariotta- not everyone is sold on him, offense he plays in, not sure he can make throws in tight windows) (Winston- off field issues, teams will have him off their boards) do not rule out Connor Cook (reportedly would come out if 1st rd pick, and he should be a top 15 pick, best pure pocket passer in draft) Bryce Petty in 2nd rd do not like what I have seen of Hundley
Dilfer was on Michael Kay Show didn't seem to love Mariotta said he def needs to sit a year in NFL none of these guys is Luck
I think Winston has potential to be close to a Luck. I like him better at the pro level than Mariota. Connor Cook's completion percentage scares the hell out of me.
I think he turns out to be the best QB in the draft, he has a good arm, I love his accuracy and he played well against Oregon. I think he'll need some coaching and to learn the pro game but if he came out I'd be fine taking him at 6 and throwing Geno out there next year and being patient with him so you don't have to force Cook in too soon. He may very well end up being this years Bortles. The worst thing we could do is take Cook and start him day 1 because the fans are impatient.
He's been near 60% the last two years, his % is almost identical. He seems fairly accurate when I've seen him play. He can hit his receivers in tight spots.
If we draft a Mariota, Winston, Cook, etc. This whole coaching staff better be gone, lol. No way am I giving them a 3rd QB to potentially ruin.
Yeah, absolutely. No way we give Rex another QB to destroy and David Lee sucks ass too, he better have his cubby cleaned out that Monday after the Phins game
I never feel that way after a win, I could die tomorrow but I know that my trip into hell would be whole lot nicer if I could flip the bird to all the haters that the Jets won on my last day on this rock.
This time last year Bridgwater was the #1 pick. Then he slipped and slipped. Let's wait a bit. Odds are Marcus and James will be gone outside of the top 4, but you never know.
to be fair... at this time two years ago GENO was a top 3 pick..and last year at this time the talk was bridgewater going #1.... shit can happen...i pray that cook comes out just incase...i really dont want to deal with winston media circus it will cause
I think a lot of people want to instantly compare him to Kap but they play in a different type of offense and Kap is more like a WR in a QB body. I look at Oregon's offense and instantly think of the K Gun that Buffalo ran under Marv Levy when Jim Kelly was QB. Obviously Mariota is a lot better of an athlete than Jim Kelly was but the pistol is very different.
It's all footwork related, it's one of the major things holding him back. This kid could be a great pro. He's Flacco with a lesser arm (a very strong arm still and effortless throwing motion), but he's more mobile. I don't see him as Wilson at all.
Pre-season, mid-season, bowl games, pre-combine, combine, post-combine, draft. It's a long process and if a guy isn't the lead pipe cinch #1 pick right now the odds are he won't be anywhere near that pick come draft day. Last year we had a lead pipe cinch in Jadaveon Clowney despite all the QB talk and Clowney was the guy. In 2013 no consensus on the #1 at this point and the guy most widely seen as #1, Luke Joeckel, wasn't the pick. In 2012 Luck was #1 from start to finish. In 2011 one of Patrick Peterson, Von Miller or Marcell Dareus was seen as the #1 for almost the entire pre-draft process but nobody knew who was best. Cam Newton was the pick.
