The risk just doesn't outway the reward. You don't trade down a spot that high in the draft for a 2nd rounder as there's no way to know what will happen with your pick once it's surrendered. Maybe they take Bush, maybe they field calls for trade-ups for Bush. It's just not worth it, if you're moving up to the 1st pick in the draft it will cost more than a 3rd or 4th. This is fact.

This years first and next years first is just the starting point of negotiations.

Yes, it is quite safe to say that there is probably at least one bad apple in the 3 QB basket. So if, we do select a QB, I hope we pick from the 66% that is still good. If we get the one with the worm in it, we are looking at being credible sometime after 2010.

Exactly, especially with the level of talent on the high end of the draft this year.

1999 Draft: #1: Tim Couch #2: Donivan McNabb #3:Akili Smith

maybe only of the 3 QB's this year is good. maybe none of them. maybe all of them.

this post might beat out jetstv character for worlds dumbest "NFL source", reggie bush will never be a Jet. Well that is unless we are willing to give up vilma and probs 2 1st round picks and maybe another pick.

a lot of people quietly don't like the fact that during his big bulk up phase, reggie came out with the stats of 5'10 7/8" and 201 lbs...he could slip...

but more importantly, no one really wants the Texans pick, because almost all the teams that are terrible and have some major needs will still be able to fill one of them if they sit at their current spot

the texans have just been trying to drag out possible trade partners by starting news and stories to get possible interest, because they really don't want to sit at #1 because their biggest needs are OT, OG, and basically the entire defense (out of the top players they could really use either Ferguson, Davis, Williams, or Hawk)

I told all of you halfway through the season that Reggie Bush would fall and was treated like a crazy man.

An unnamed source close to the Jets organization says the Jets are trading down and taking Bush at the 10 spot, then D'Brick at 17 and finally Leinhart and Young at the 29th and 30th spots.
