If were going to take a look at Matt Jones (rumor), we might as well take a shot at Burress...

All the Jets have to do is take a chance, take a risk and let the man take a roster spot and enter the draft with a talented group of WR's in Burress and Cotchery as our 1-2 with Stucky in the slot with Dustin Keller as our pass catching TE which could make for one of the best O's in the game behind a strong O-Line along with two solid running backs.

I know I may get slammed for wanting a "Criminal" like Burress but you know what? The man is what? 27-28 years old? (Im not sure) and he made a mistake...An illegal mistake but you know what? I wish one of my best friends (R.I.P Kenny Powell) would have had a gun while he was in radio shaq...Who woulda thought a man on lunch break would have been killed along with another girl who I went to school with and another man left blind for the rest of his life only for the gunman to turn the gun on himself and commit suicide? So yeah...After that, I carry a gun on me @ all times just about and Im just glad that I havnt had to use it on someone who is out to hurt me or my family.

Who knows what Burress has seen in his life? Who knows the reason why he had a gun? Some people around here act is if the man had a gun just because he was about to rob someone, get real guys...The man was at a strip club being a man and the fact of the matter is this... Burress has made something out of himself, he's not a "Thug" like some people may call him because in my eyes, a thug is a person who sells drugs for a living, steals cars, robs people and just doesnt give a shit about life but Burress...He worked has ever since a kid to beome the talent that he is on the football field. Some people may say stuff like.. "He's an NFL athlete and should have known better to go to a strip club IF he needed protection" well you know what? Look @ that NFL player that got shot up about 10 times or something like that, who are WE to judge anyone on something like this?

The fact of the matter is this... (In my eyes) A player like Burress (Who MAY go to jail) can bring this Jets team over the top. We already have one of the best D's or we may have one of the best D's next year under Rex Ryan BUT with the addition of Burress to our offense...All we need to do is sign the man and hope that he brings us a championship next year (Thats what we have been waiting for right?) The addition of Burress could have the Jets as one of the best teams in the league and I would bet my bottom dollar that we could give the Patriots a run for their money.

    Pats have Moss
    Bills have Ownes

Lets go and get Burress and take a gamble on a kid that can help Kellen lead this team far this year...If he goes to jail, he goes to jail... But I have a feeling it can be a good 2 years before he does any time and by that time, who knows how far the Jets could have gone? I have a good feeling Burress loves it here in NY and it would be an exciting 2009 season with Burress on the roster BEFORE we enter the draft. The only way I'll shut up about Percy Harvin (Before the draft) Is if the Jets pull the trigger and land Burress.

Now...I understand the Jets may not have the cap room like a Bucs team and many of others but I also trust our front office with the salary cap because they have been elite as far as that goes.

If we dont go after Burress...I wont cry over spilt milk unless a team like NE goes after him to play alongside Moss, I wont make thread after thread on the guy but as a Jets fan...I would love to see him bring this offensive attack to a whole nother level.

I've seen Jet fan after Jet fan throw size in my face interms of tall WR's who make plays over a WR like Harvin, well...Not we have a chance

Yes the city SHOULD go after him and enforce the law as intended and give him the mandatory sentence and not make any "plea" just because he is a NFL player. Maybe without any ties to NY the DA will be freed up to do the right thing and lock the thug up.

Burress is a thug? lol, ok... I wont even argue with you because it's clear that you have no idea what a thug reall is and believe me you...Burress is far from a "Thug".

What do you want the system to do? Lock the man up and throw away the key? What Vick did was wrong, it was evil and it takes a SICK man to hurt animals. They say just about every serial killer has had a past of hurting animals as kids and what not and thats because it takes a SICK man to hurt an innocent dog. What was so sick about what Burress did? What was so evil about what Burress did? Who did Burress hurt...Other than his fucking self? Why have so much hatred for a man that hasnt done any harm to anyone else?

If anything...If Vick got 1 or 2 years...Burress should only get 30-60 days.

I am surprised you don't want the Jets to sign Burress to light a fire under Gholston?

Thug schmug...the guy irresponsibly carried an unregistered firearm into a club, in sweatpants, without the safety on. The gun went off, and he COULD have killed innocent people. Just because he got lucky and shot himself instead doesn't doesn't mitigate the fact that his actions were criminally negligent.

It has nothing to do with being a thug, and everything to do with being an irresponsible dumbfuck.

And just because your father spent all of y'all's food money on crack growing up doesn't make you the be-all, end-all authority on the word "thug". I've heard your music...you have no street cred.

Are you kidding me? My father never used drugs tough guy...I never actually got a chance to know my father because he actually passed away when I was a kid and why would I even explain this shit to you? You dont know me and your just another loser who stereo types people when in reality...You have no idea what your talking about. I have no "Street cred"? I dont need "Street cred" When I grew up around real homies thats been through alot over the years... What the fuck have you seen? What have you been through? Have you ever had a mom who worked three jobs just to support 4 of her children? Truth of the matter is...I dont care what you been through and you know why? Because this is a FOOTBALL site.

Thanks for the family attack though

I think it is hilarious that you go on a rant in that bone head thread u made about not getting cutler becuase he would be a distraction and cause problems in the locker room. Yet u want to bring in the giants trash? U need help.

With Burress we only need to take a risk on the man, with Cutler we would have had to give up either Kellen/Ratliff, two 1st round draft picks and a 3rd rounder. No thnx, I'll pass on that on bro. This is a different situation

He's gonna be in jail then face an NFL suspension. No need to take on that headache.

Actually, my moms got a master's degree while raising my sister and I by herself. And I gotta tell ya, when you use phrases like this:

it instantly makes you sound like you got no cred. Sorry about your father, that was not my intention.

None of that has anything to do with the fact that Burress is a negligent criminal. Regardless of your upbringing.

No to Plaxico. Trade up for Crabtree if you want a playmaking Wideout; he is the next Larry Fitzgerald.
