I don't see why anyone would be against bringing him in. You know the deal will be cheap and short term, we've seen Bulger have success in the NFL, and he'd be a BACKUP. I'd much rather have Bulger than Clemens....

    ummm.....

A veteran QB doesn't sprinkle magic sand on a young QB and he suddenly becomes a great QB. Clemens doesn't have what it takes to be a starting QB in the NFL.

Ainge is not a better option to Bulger. No one should agree with that.

Interestingly enough Favre has had some talented QB sit behind him and learn.

Matt Hasselbeck, kurt Warner, and Aaron Rodgers.

Three damn good QBs, one possible HOF.

He was gone before the season started, that one barely counts. NFL Europe did more for Warner than Favre. It's not exactly like you want Favre teaching younger QBs how to play, either.

I disagree. Ainge looked much better against 3rd stringers than Bulger has looked against 1st stringers, and since 3 > 1, Ainge is CLEARLY the superior QB and always has been.

but he was there. I count him!!! :)

Watching Favre probably taught these guys what not to do on a football field. That is another method of teaching.

Clemens is really awful. This would be a huge improvement if we got Bulger. The only reason we survived the game and a half we had without Sanchez was because we were playing the Bills and Bucs. If we were playing a team where we had to air it out a little bit we would have lost with Clemens playing. Clemens is terrible.

    On the money.

Clemens seems like a real class act, and he knows the system. However, he has looked like dog shit whenever he has played. I highly doubt we get anything for him though. I honestly believe Ainge has more upside than Clemens does.

That being said, having a vet like Bulger come in ATLEAST for this season would be a giant positive. Especially since Sanchez is coming off knee surgery. In the event he goes down, Bulger would be a very good care taker. The guy has had the leagues WORST offensive line for years now, so you can't really pin his bad numbers on him.

Anyhow, we could have Bulger for this season, and then move to Ainge at #2 down the road.

Head to head Bulger is better than Clemens, but Clemens does know the system.

If Bulger is healthy and behind a line like the Jets have he could be a probowl QB again, but that is why he won't sign with the Jets. He still wants to start and he would never be more than a #2 in this team.
