I don't feel very confident in Becton but I think it's a bit too early to draft his replacement, especially before we see how he plays at RT assuming Fant wins the LT job which I expect he will.

I also think Fant has another few years of solid play in him considering his low mileage so I don't think drafting an RT at 4 makes much sense.

Not disagreeing that Fant may be a good Tackle or that it is too early to give up on Becton. If KT slides or of Jameson Williams finishes that NT game with 200 yards, which he was on pace of doing without ACL tear, I would draft them. But in absence of that, Ike is the next best thing, and his flexibility will allow us to greatly improve RG spot as well as step in if Becton gets injured again, which we MUST account for. Ike solves two problems: gives us Pro Bowl potential at RG AND insurance for Becton injury for next year. This is worth a lot.

Then depending on what happens with Becton/Fant, he probably starts at tackle the following year. The worst case scenario of being a stud G, and best case a starting LT to me is well worth #4 pick given the alternatives available.

There is 0 chance JD goes into the draft w/o a starting level RG on the roster

I heard tons about Landon. He was on a path to brake a bunch of receiving records before his injury. I am hearing a lot of chatter about him and the fact he is under rated, and strong Jets option as well as other teams.

Not thrilled about Ekwonu but I like London a lot. My uncle is a big USC fan and he raves about London, says he made their QB look a lot better than he is.

I watch very little college football but I did see USC play ND. London stood out as the best player on either team that day. It was the same game that Hamilton got injured in very early on, would have been great to see them go up against each other. London isn't a burner but smooth and caught everything. I don't think I'd be complaining at all if he's the second pick.

Agreed he was a fast riser similar to Zach.

Chase isn’t available but Wilson and Burks are! They are both better for Zack than Linderbaum or Ekwonu. This the point of the thread.

Yea, and you look at his game film, he seems like he fits our current WR perfectly. He is not a burner, not a deep threat whatsoever, but he is liek a taller AJ Brown. He gets contested catches, goes over the middle, etc. Pair that with Moore, and Davis, more speed guys and that's a really solid and diverse WR room. Still no Alpha #1 like Bengals with Jamar Chase but think it works fine if we want to run the ball a lot and use short passes.

Good analysis. The only thing I’d add is that sometimes guys that are so big and physical like him can still be effective down field. They don’t always need to run by guys, they just need to out leap them. Mike Williams is a good example of this. Tyler Boyd has been reduced to a possession receiver out of system fit, but he did a lot of this a couple years ago. AJ Green as well. These are all 4.5 forty guys.

And Larry Fitz is the GOAT at this running in the 4.6’s.

Atleast it's showing that Douglass is considering going all offense again in RD 1

At least one if not both of them will be there at #10. When I said Chase, I meant Chase type of elite prospect, which Wilson and Burks I don't believe are.

I have to wonder how closely you looked at the Bengals' drafts and what they prioritized. Over the last 4 years, they used 2 first rounders and the 46th pick in 2021 on offensive line help.

There is certainly something to be said for building upon a strength like the Bengals did at receiver and in the case of Chase, don't overthink it if you think someone is going to be an immediate All-Pro caliber talent. But this idea that the Bengals are an example of how to deprioritize the OL and succeed is crazy. Their own draft history shows it isn't the case.

I never would've guessed this based on how many hits and sacks Burrow has taken since entering the league.

So basically you're saying that those of us who said he should be a DC and not a HC were correct? Thank you. :)
