Jilozzo, I think your memory failed you a bit on BT. The Jets already had Ellis as the 4-3 DE opposite Abe after they switched to Herm's "COVER WHO" 4-3 defense from the Parcells/Groh 3-4. BT was drafted in 2002 after the debacle with Abraham in the playoffs against the Raiders when he had the "flu." The idea in drafting BT was to allow Ellis to move inside to rush on passing downs but also as a back-up plan for Abraham. That was, IMO, a panic move especially as Ed Reed was still on the board and safety was a much greater need. Instead they went with Jon McGraw in Rd 2.
