I think for this year it's best to keep him... we don't know how Gholston will perform and we need depth. After this year, when Rex will have coached up a our reserve LB's a bit, he can decide if we still need him. My guess is he is going to get cut because of cap considerations... unless 2010 really will be cap free... in that case anything may happen.

^he only makes 1.9 million in '10. That's a freaking double blue light special for a veteran OLB. No way he is cut next year unless the staff gets major fed up with him.

He adds depth for little in cap space. If they can keep the fire lit under him he can reach 8-10 sacks

Thomas is a solid player and with his cap numbers, who would we replace him with? He's a healthy player who doesn't bitch too much and can cover a couple of spots. I have no problem with him staying another year or two.

No, he can't. Ask Altoona the next time you see him.

I've said this time and time again: Bryan Thomas is a fucking cancer. He is the ultimate phone-it-in guy. Depth? Sure, that's fine. Let him warm the bench and run under kicks. But right now, he's a fucking starter on an otherwise great-on-paper defense and that PISSES ME OFF.

I'm fine if management is waiting for the draft. I'm fine if management is waiting for training camp to see if Gholston can get it done. But I have serious reservations about any coaching staff that thinks Bryan Thomas is a starting NFL linebacker.

Please...Bryan Thomas...lighting it up? Next to Drob, Thomas is/was the most overpaid underachiever the jets ever drafted--The same guy who drafted both still has a job with the jets...figure that out. The sooner we realize that Thomas stinks and we get REAL rush from the outside (not his half-hearted "I'm not in a contract year" attempts), the better.
