i realize that, but it would be fun to have a legit #1 WR.....or a prospect of one before he f*cks it up again just getting the feel for the fan base on this topic
I guess it all depends on what they found doing their due diligence. If this is a Dan Bailey situation where the team makes a decision based on info the public doesn't have then I'm fine with it. Otherwise I'd do it.
If he starts off at the bottom of the depth chart & has to work his way up w his commitment/production im all for it. Hes perfect for Darnold & paired w Enunwa could be frightening. He brings something the Jets currently do not have. Chris Carter needed a change of scenery maybe its the same deal w Josh
I would do it. The Jets desperately need playmakers. Bring him in, let him earn playing time, and hope it works out.
Schefter was explaining on the radio this morning as well that his salary this year is only $790,000 and we can tender him next year for $1.9 million. i personally make the trade. He is high risk, yes, but like KurtTheJetsFan mentioned above, the change of scenery may do him well. I also feel that Chris Johnson (acting owner) would take the time and resources to aid him in staying sober
What do you do with the rest of the receivers? Cut Pryor? Trade Kearse? Either way, I think Gordon ends up in the NFC. The Browns will have multiple offers and if the packages are somewhat equal, they'll choose to send him out of the conference.
why? You think the Browns are afraid they may see him in the playoffs?? I'd cut Pryor if anyone, same size as Gordon, but Gordon is younger and can actually run a route
I don't think I would trade for Gordon, but if he were to get cut, I would instantly cut Pryor for Gordon.
yes I would do that but I don't think the Browns want to trade him within conference. And they absolutely aren't going to want to trade him to us, the week they are playing us. probably screwed here. unless they make a trade after our game
Eh, he's injured and it's a short week. I don't think there's any shot he'd play for us if we traded for him today. That might actually give the Browns incentive... they know they won't see him the rest of the year. I still don't think he ends up here.
True, but, there would be no way that Gordon could learn the playbook in 3 days. Worst case is he'd be in on 30%-50% of the plays and they would be all simple routes (jump ball in the end zone, seam route, WR screen)
if we do I can see and hear it now ,,,,Todd Bowels = " it happens , sometimes you over sleep, alarm clocks don't go off,or you are just running late ,,,also everyone has a drink now and then ,,It happens its not the end of the world " ,,,,sad part is this aint far fetched and he might actually say this -oh wait he did say some of that !!!!
Gordon is Fool's Gold at this point. The Jets are already down picks from the Darnold trade up. They need to get something tangible out of the remaining picks and trading for a player whose most consistent trait is missing games is not the way to do it. The situation is no different than when Gordon got his second suspension and people wanted to trade a second round pick for him. It's just a bad move that might flash for a bit but will ultimately sputter out.
I wonder what he did this week to piss off the Browns so much. I mean they stuck with him forever, suspension after suspension. And then it takes this week, 1 week after he had a good game, for them to finally say they've had enough
I just read that we’re the “front runner” to land him. So is the dude getting cut and hitting the market or traded Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Where the heck did you read that? I haven't even seen us linked to him let alone called the front runners.
