Gordon, Hill, Holmes and Kerley would be a nightmare to defend.

No question we need those picks, but our biggest needs are WR and Safety. If you can get a surefire contributor with a pick or two at one of our greatest positions of need, why not?

Gordon's next substance abuse suspension will be for a year...

He is super talented, but unless the price were very low I would pass.

WR's looked incredible today, but the Bills secondary is in shambles. Not to mention there's a decent chance Holmes won't be around after this year.

trading for gordon makes sense for the jets from a cap perspective..

just a matter of what they want

Cleveland can take Holmes for their 1st or 2nd.

I don't think I'd want any midseason trades. We have other needs... I'm just curious how we'll go at our needs in the offseason. Colon was on a 1 year deal, so he'll be gone probably replaced no problem with Brian Winters. The problem is big Vlad and Austin Howard are both scheduled to be FA's this year. Both Cumberland and Winslow will be FA's as well. On defense, Calvin Pace is a FA so those are our 4 main areas of need, OG, OT, TE, and OLB. The rest are mostly depth issues, but they really shouldn't be assessed until the end of the season. Our WR corp could end the year poorly, or possibly grow to be quite good. The same goes with our RB's and Safeties. Why trade for Josh Gordon now while our offense is starting to come together? We aren't in some championship window, not to mention with Geno still developing how many times do you expect him to pass it? we had two 100+ receivers today, and a 150 yard tailback. Lets save our pics and see what the draft has to offer, we could get a project WR to eventually take over for Holmes for a 3rd or 4th or even 5th, so why spend a lot on a trade for a guy we aren't even ready to incorporate into our offense?

Someone is gonna trade a couple conditional picks for Gordon, and it's gonna pay off for them. Hopefully it's not the Pats

Josh Gordon's off the field issues scare me, but I can't lie..Gordon, Hill, Holmes, Winslow/Cumberland, and Kerley would be pretty damn good.

Eh, I really dont think the price will be that high. There's a reason why they are trying to sell him. He's a very talented receiver, but he has a ton of problems off the field. They are not going to be able to find a team willing to give up a 1st or even a 2nd for a guy that is one drug test away from being out the whole year. I think a 4th could do it, but thats just me...

agree i would def do a 4th - we will recoup that as a conditional.

    no higher though.

he'll likely end up in NE

Funny how the Jets are bad at wide receiver, playing a rookie QB with a great defense while in week 3 the Browns want to trade a talented yet troubled wide receiver.

    Sound familiar to anyone?

You think the Browns would take Wilson and a 4th rounder for Gordon? If so, I am all for it!

Here's how you make a safe offer for Gordon: conditional 2015 2nd if he is on the Jets roster all through 2013 and 2014 (regular or IR) or a 7th round pick in 2014 or 2015 if he is cut by the Jets for any reason during 2013 or 2014 respectively..

Sure, but that's also an offer the Browns don't even consider.
If they trade him it will be for a top 3 rounds pick this year.

Bitch-ass Mike Lombardi is the GM of the Browns. He hates the Jets, and was taught to by Al Davis. And he worked for Belichick before that, and has been a Pats shill on NFLN because of it.

The Jets aren't trading for any players on the Browns.

He is never going to make a sweetheart deal with the Jets.

Why isn't the League looking into this obvious "Tank for Teddy" scheme the Browns are trying to pull off?

Probably because the Colts did it two years ago and have a quasi contender because of it.

The only rules that matter are the ones that make them money.

Apparently Im pretty off... Im hearing/reading that the Browns could be looking for a high draft pick.

Im just going to go out there and say that Gordon is an extremely talented WR, and has a similar skill set to Julio Jones. He is a legitimate #1 WR. If you add him with this group, I think we could actually make a push for the playoff.

The way I look at it, outside of Lee and Watkins, Id say Gordon would be the best WR in this class. You know his skills translate to the NFL. If he can just mature (he actually doesnt sound like an idiot when you listen to him), then he can be a top 10 WR in this league. Next year we are likely going to spend a 1st or 2nd round pick on a WR. If we can spend our 2 3rd round picks on a proven stud in the making, why not? He actually may be more valuable to a team than Trent Richardson, if he develops even more.

Im just saying, a WR group of Gordon - Holmes - Hill - Kerley is pretty damn good. You add a TE in the offseason and you have a nice group of skill players around a promising TE.

The Jets might inquire, but I doubt they offer up enough for what the Browns would want.
