i think this trade would benefit the lions much more than the broncos... the broncos could use another wr, but they have a beast #1 wr on their roster which most teams dont have....and two other adequate wr's as depth if they want to upgrade the position they should just sit tight at #21 they can grab a top 4 wr in the draft...and one of the possibilities is ted ginn while he may not be even close to the player CJ is...he is an incredible KR/PR which would be an important addition to denver, b/c they didnt have a KR/PR last season denver may have been better than advertised last season, but they still have plenty of flaws...DE/DT/LB/S(x2)/and o-line
as soon as cutler is drafted...they trade for javon walker sign daniel graham/sign travis henry/and potentially add another wr...which could end up being calvin johnson now it took elway needing T. Davis/rod smith/mccaffrey/and a defense to finally win...not to mention 15 years and yet they threw plummer under the bus without every giving him any help... better winning percentage and rating than elway...all without a rb, bigtime wr, or any support from denver fans 3 and 1/2 years of nothing but winning w/o help and losing to better teams in the playoffs...throw in a victory over the patriots in the playoffs and people still think he sucks the fans in denver are some spoiled b****es...
calvin johnson is great, but a first day AND another first rounder is a ton to give up. screw the draft value chart. Only fools are slaves to it. The chart doesn't accurately represent the value of picks. the one on the internet was just one man's weak opinion... not sure if that's jj's chart.
That would be wild... They have solid vets at WR on the team but they wont last forever.. Man, can you imagine the next few seasons Cutler could have throwing the ball to the young guys like Brandon Marshall and Calvin Johnson.. That plus Travis Henry running in their system, these bronco's could become a big offensive threat in the AFC. If they don't pull the trigger on this, they could get Mike Walker... Walker and Marshall reunited. UCF fans would instantly become Bronco fans.
Maybe this can be put to bed now. Broncos fans should stop dreaming about wide receiver Calvin Johnson. An NFL source says the Detroit Lions will trade their No. 2 overall draft pick, but will entertain offers only from teams with picks 3 through 10. That means the Broncos, with their No. 21 pick, likely are too far away to move up and get Johnson, the Georgia Tech star who is widely regarded as the draft's most cherished prize. The Broncos made two trade proposals last month for the Lions' No. 2 pick, but were rebuffed. The chances of revisiting a deal for Johnson on draft day this weekend diminished with the Lions' decision The Broncos could move up to the No. 10 pick by trading their first-round pick, second- round pick and one of their two third-round picks to the Houston Texans. But at that point, the Broncos likely wouldn't have enough left to deal with Detroit. The only way the Broncos likely could get Johnson is if teams picking No. 3 through 10 don't make a serious bid for the Lions' No. 2 choice. That appears unlikely. There have been numerous reports that Tampa Bay, which has the No. 4 pick, will make a serious play for Johnson. (I don't believe that either)
If Denver makes this move, we can officially tie them with Washington as "Team that places no value on the draft whatsoever." Hey, the fans love it when their team shakes things up, moves players around, trades up, and grabs some big name. Denver did it twice last year and look where it got them. Losing to the lowly 49ers so Germ Spreadwards could sneak into the playoffs once again. Do I think Javon Walker and Jay Cutler will work out for Denver? Yes. Do I think that Denver will continue to barely miss or quickly lose in the playoffs because they have no role players? Absolutely. I hope Denver makes this deal because I can't stand them or Shanahan. But there is no way one player is worth that many picks, I don't care if he's Reggie Bush, Joe Montana, or anyone else. Football is a team sport. Four great players and seven schulbs does not a Superbowl team make.
