It depends. May not look like it at first glance but Abe might have alot to do with where we pick. If you recall that rumor that we trade him to the Skins for their 2nd and 3rd this year, and 1st next year, we could package our top 2 picks and move up.

When has Mangini even mentioned Cutler? Do you have a link?

Either way Cutler as a prospect dosent have me excited. I think like many others that hes ridiculously overhyped. And to think that some scouts have him ranked over Heisman winning Matt Leinart, and Rose Bowl stud Vince Young??? Common now...

I think it was in one of the papers today, that Mangini is targeting Cutler at the #4 spot.

Was it just speculation, like "Mangini could be targeting Cutler at 4th overall", or did it say, for instance, "Mangini is targeting Cutler"
    ??

Fourth is too early for Cutler IMO. He just screams workout wonder to me, even in teh Senior Bowl he made alot of questionable decisions, given the choice between Cutler 4th and Oline 2nd, or Oline and Brodie later, i think you have to go with option # 2

maybe I am just bitter about how much we paid for DRob but by no means am I interested in moving up. With the draft being considerably deep IMO I think we need to keep all of our picks if not trade down to pick up more.

ugh. If our defense has to play 3/4's of every game because we don't do the right thing and at least try and draft some offense early I'm gonna have to start beating my wife.

Personally I love Croyle, simply put he has "it", as unexplainable as that "it" is. His injury problems were with his knees, but he has a hell of an arm and pretty much everything you look for in a QB. Without the knee injuries he may have been up there with Lienart and Young. I'd love to take him in the 2nd or 3rd and build an offensive line.

Croyle's long balls especially with Prothro, looked like what this offense needs to get Coles going again

Well, I liked what I saw from him today. Cutler is in no way a bad option, but Croyle may just surprise people. There is no way I want Leinhart. He had a pretty damn good supporting cast. He won't have that here, at least early. Young is just another Vick style clone. Yes, he has better QB skills than Vick, but he is still one of the "run if the pocket fails" guys, and that is going to happen way too often here for him to be successful.

From what it looks like right now though, we are in a whole big mess of trouble. It seriously looks like our new management is in rebuild mode.

i think your putting way too much stock in one game. cutlker has the skill set u want ui a ideal qb. Strong Arm, gun slingger mentallity, qb arrogance, moblity, nice big and strong frame. his accuracy is ok but theres room to improve. but thats a teachable thing so is mechanics when he gets year the jets will work on that with him for a yr ala carson palmer. imo with the state of the jets cutler is the way to go. grab your franchise qb and lets rebuild around him.you cant pass on a Strong arm.

    1st rd : Cutler
2nd rd : OT Marcus Mcneil
