That's what happens when the team sucks..if they get good again it will change and fireman ed doesn't have to be there for that to happen.
I appreciate what Ed did in trying to get the crowd going but I lost respect from him when he became popular when the Jets went on their run in 1998 as he lied and said he was at every game in the losing years. I was and I saw him a lot but not at every game so he has a little history of lying.
I just signed the petition. Not a STH but it's now time for Ed to come back. Totally understand why he gave it up in the first place.
starting to pick up steam. http://newyork.cbslocal.com/2015/03...aiming-to-bring-fireman-ed-out-of-retirement/
let me ask you an honest question. what do you get out of this? bc all of it comes off as self serving bs at the expense of us as fans. the idzik thing was a terrible look, and this is almost as bad. it will be worse when you inevitably start asking for donations for a billboard to bring back a guy WHO STILL ATTENDS EVERY GAME.
i am not asking for anything. All i want out of it is a fun game day atmosphere. There will be no billboards or t-shirts for this one.
no but you'll still drudge up muck with this petition to make us look like pathetic fans that desperately miss their chant leader, which couldnt be further from the truth.
Ed doesn't make the atmosphere, the team does with how good or bad they are. the atmosphere wasn't great w/ Ed. we have never had great crowds outside of a few games here and there.
we have millions of fans, hundreds of uneducated nitwits who have probably never been to a game tell us nothing. no one cares about you or your silly crusades. This town thrives on negativity and you hopped on that bandwagon w/ a dead GM walking. congrats.
dude.. you are the same guy who said that he wasn't going to get fired bc "no GM's get fired after 2 years".. now he was a "dead GM walking"…. interesting flip flop
we have 654 signatures on the petition so far in less than 24 hours. Forget the "millions of fans" - let's just go by simple math. 654 people are on the record that they want Fireman Ed back.. and maybe 50 people so far have been outspoken against his return. That is a solid sample size for one day. There is no way that "millions of Jets fans" know about this petition yet or the number of people who signed it would be way higher.
if thats your thought process, then take the hint and leave this board. we dont care about your billboards or petitions. we dont care about your agenda. and most imprtantly, we could all give a flying fuck about what you think of us as fans. if you had a half a brain and actually read these forums, and participated in discussions outside of the ones that you are promoting, you would know that his is actually one of the more rational ones out there. one filled with real fans and not self serving ones like yourself. ones who actually do love this team, invest in it through attending games and whatnot, and do it in a enjoyable manner for all. in conclusion, we dont care what you think, we see through you as someone who is here to push is own bs out there and use us and other fans as pawns to do so, and we dont respect your opinions on these matters bc they are tainted by your bullshit. peace out fool.
Wow we are already at the "come post articles that talk about my stupid internet movement" portion of the show. Can we ban this guy?
lol.. the best part about this is that we wanted Idzik fired and you dopes thought that was a dumb idea and that our campaign was stupid.. Well.. Idzik is gone. Even better is going to be on opening day when Ed comes back and leads that first "J-E-T-S" chant.. I will be thinking of how sad that will make the 20 people on this board who do nothing but talk a big game.
Most people wanted Idzik gone, the sane people thought it was stupid to waste money and embarrass fanbase by putting up billboards and flying planes. Don't confuse the two.
