Yes I have, they ran for 140 yards the first game, 100 yards the second game, last week they were behind so they had to get away from it and they did not have Ivory, what exactly is your expectation from the running game? It's not the ground and pound type of scheme that Rex wanted to use, Gailey has a more open and pass oriented scheme, it's not that hard to figure out.
How much of a dropoff will there be? Can Winters play at the same level Colon did? We shall see. Look at the left side. So clean and calm. Brick handling his guy, Carp sealing the left side, Mangold holding down the middle. Picture perfect protection. Once you get to Colon it's a complete cluster fuck.
Winters played the entire second half last week, and played ok. that said, blocking Suh is a different game. Gailey would be wise to double up with Mangold often. Miami can counter that double by rushing a LB inside, which might cause us to keep Powell in to block as well. it's a numbers game that Miami ultimately benefits from. that's the impact Suh has....have to adjust gameplans around him.
thru 2.5 games, Colon has not let up a Sack, a QB hit, or a penalty. that's about a clean a game as you can play, and he hasn't sacrificed any physicality to do it. there will be a dropoff. that said, i'm cautiously optimistic that Winters can hold his own here, so long as Gailey doesn't expect him to take Suh singlehandedly all game. mix in some trap blocks, and get Mangold and/or Powell helping on pass pro..
more impactful than Colon being out is Miami LT Albert being out imo.... Buffalo was able to exploit that quite a bit last week, and i expect more of the same out of us.
Don't judge O-Lines on sacks given up, those two really don't correlate. Colon is garbage when Mangold doesn't baby sit him.
I don't think so. I mean he stayed in the lineup. In the 2nd half he was replaced however so maybe he played through the pain and got hurt there.
From your picture, it really looks like he's going down awkwardly. You can't even tell if there is a Philly player in front of him or not around his feet. I'm guessing there is and that's why he's getting pushed into Fitz.
i'm not judging on sacks alone. i mentioned QB hits and penalties (in which he's given up 0), and he's only given up 2 QB hurries. I've also re-watched every single snap he's taken. i can say with certainty that he's been solid thus far this season, and that you have clearly not keyed in on him for an entire game. if you had, you'd have known Mangold hasn't been 'babysitting' him as he's primarily had a NT lined up directly over him, and has had help from Colon and Carpenter, and not the other way around.
Yeah, I haven't keyed in on him. That's why I'm posting the coaches tape here of him getting his ass whooped. Stop making shit up to defend your point, that doesn't help. We've played THREE 3-4 defenses straight. And now that we finally play a 4-3 defense where the guards won't be getting help all day from a HOF Center in his prime you'll see what good or bad guard play actually is. It's too bad Winters is the one who will be exposed to Suh because when blocking a capable DT 1 on 1 we saw what happens with Colon. Keep talking up his 7 and a half minutes of hall of fame thus far when he's getting help all day from Nick. I can see you studied the PFF stats well, good for you. Those mean a lot. I mean they did have him ranked as the best guard in football in week 1 I believe when a) he rarely blocked anyone 1 on 1 and b) he didn't block anybody worth a shit. But PFF says he played at an All Pro level so it must be true. Who can argue their credibility.
