He was great during that stretch. You know what I'm saying, though - Brett is Brett and that means sometimes he's going to wind it up and toss it deep - and the only one that is going to be on your television screen on the other end is D'Angelo Hall.
How do you know what the primary target was? That was the play they ran, it was a dumb play with everything on the line. I can almost guarantee you that if you get stats on the scenarios that running for 2 on 4th has better chances than trying to throw for 40.
How do you know? I have seen that play run a million times and usually there is a TE or FB in the flat near the 1st down marker, an intermediate route and a deep route.
Yeah, I could see that he could throw....interceptions. Mental huh? So he had the mental part of the game during the winning stretch and then he had a mental lapse at the end? Really now? For the last three years down the stretch his TD/INT ratio has been horrible. That is what happens to a guy who can't take the rigors. Throw in a torn tendon and another year for grandpa Favre and that equals retirement.
He was good really only during the Buf through Ten games, we were limiting his downfield throws and relying more onn the short pass game and the running game. We began to abnadon that and he took more shots as the season went along.
I thought we got favre becasue we needed someone with a strong arm to make all the throws. So now he is a dink and dunker? Regardless of what is called at 14M/yr he needs to be able to make good throws and good decisions. He did neither and he has a long history of bad decisions and a recent history of late season bad throws. And now with this last post you are not blaming favre, but the playcalling, so how can you be in favor of keeping shotty around?
I know because I saw the ball fly 40 yards in the air in one of the worst play calls I have ever seen.
We got Favre because we were 4-12, the Giants had just won the Super Bowl, and we were moving into a new stadium that needed paying for. It was the perfect thing to make enough noise to drowned out the problems and our Meadowlands neighbor.
I don't think the stadium had much to do with it. They are sold out with a waiting list for the forseeable future already, and anyone who follows the game even a little knew Favre would probably never play a down in the new stadium.
