Schotty has looked great the last couple of games. I'll admit I was a hater of him, but if he keeps with this trend I'd love to see him stick around.

Yea but at this point who gives a shit man? Not callin u out just sayin that since Rex took on more of a role in the offense we've been winning and schotty is an enormous part of that. Play calling has been safe and smart .Like wsw said a lot of us have been frustratwd by his inconsistency but thay looks like its in the past

Well called game. My problem with Schotty has been the overuse of Jones rather than mixing up the running game, the lack of short outlet passes and other high percent slants along with a tendency not to involve Keller, Cotch and Edwards on first and second downs.

He has done a great job of utilizing Greene the last couple of weeks and we finally saw some better utilization of Keller.

Most importantly, Sanchize seems to have come up to the speed of the game. If that is true and Schotty focuses on making teams stop what we do best and not on what they do worst, we will have the chance to beat anyone we play.

There is no doubt Schotty has had some questionable calls/gameplans in his tenure as Jets Offensive Coordinator. But the difference between Schotty and a Hackett or Heimedinger is that when he fucks up he says "Ok I fucked up, I have to evolve my gameplans for the next game."

His game plans are different every game, and gets rid of the stuff that doesnt work.

For example, last week against the Bengals, the Jets WildTiger worked to perfection. It tore apart the Bungalos D. This week, I guarantee you that was a huge part of the gameplan. But when the Bungalos showed they were not going to let it beat them, he gave up on it. When the Bengals proved they were gonna stop TJ, he ran Greene all day. When he realized the Bengals coverage and pass rush broke down when Sanchez used a playaction and rolled out of the pocket, he called that play more.

Bottom line is that Schotty is a good Offensive Coordinator. I wonder the statistic on OCs maintaining their job when having 3 different QBs in 3 straight years. I doubt its many. Schotty deserves credit.

I do my fair share of bitching about Schotty, but yesterday's game plan offensively was well put together and executed to near perfection. Hats off to him. He had a great day.

Now if we could just order Braylon some of that Stick-Um glue for his hands.

I really hope he can do a better job with the catches. For the most part, I do like the pick up. As far as Schotty, he had everybody on the same page and called a great game. He keeps that up and we will have a few more weeks of football.

    He's done a near 180.

I can imagine that he's begun to listen to other coaches about how to run a balanced attack. Everything I attacked him for not doing, he is now doing. Can't hate a guy for listening to me.

Oh, and he's adjusting almost as good as Rex and Pettine do. This team may have a true braintrust. Its exciting.

Maybe Greene was nicked up early or couldn't pick up the blitz and they didn't want him in the same backfield as Sanchez to much early? Maybe having a rookie like Greene relatively fresh for the stretch run has something to do with his increased role lately?

Jones as good as he is statistically gets a ton of stops for no gain and you can't just give him the ball over and over in 3rd and longs when he stands up going into the line. We have a more effective running game right now because we have Greene healthy and up to speed with fresh legs.

We ran for a ton of yards on teams but didn't convert a ton of 3rd downs and put up a ton of points until we got rid of those nothing plays. Now that we have a true power runner it opens up a lot of other options to get big plays without throwing the ball from a classic drop back position.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure Sanchez wasn't even touched that whole game.

Even if Shottenjuinor comes back next season, it will probably be his last with the Jets. Chances are, if the team continues to succeed, he'll be getting a head coaching job by then. Personally, I've always liked him and hopes he sticks around as long as possible.

Schotty probably called his best game of the year yesterday. Props to him for stepping up when it mattered.

The best part about Schotty's gameplan? He made it in concert with last week's. He created 2 gameplans leading up to our Week 17 matchup, and it showed yesterday. Some of our tendencies from the regular season finale perfectly set up the Bengals defense to be exploited last night. It was a thing of beauty.

He deserves recognition for fixing the flaw in his game thats been killing us all season...

He finally realized what the High Percentage Pass, and Working the Flats is all about....

Wait till he gets Leon back next year, and can use the swing pass and wheel routes..
    (or Shonn learns to catch...lol)

As for Braylon...He's great. He has one minor flaw.

He cant catch looking Up...When he looks up to locate the abll, he never gets his hands right.

While he works on that, Sanchez will start taking a little air out whenever possible.

Notice on the long scores he's had he's been running downfield so the ball comes in.

He has to learn to catch the moon balls.....

I for one have no need to apologize for my criticism of BS and I will tell you why, BS has vindicated the group of guy's on this board that have been critical of him because he has changed how he calls the games.

BS has finally realized that ground and pound actually works, and it opens up the passing game.

As opposed to the group of guy's on this forum who wanted MS to throw the ball 35 times a game and defended BS for calling those plays because he needed to go through growing pains to become a good NFL QB. So if anything I will accept the apologies of those who defended BS while he was helping to kill MS confidence.

BS has also realized that while it is good for the QB to throw the ball, with occasional deep throws, he does not need to depend on MS to carry the team.

We were 32nd in the league in pass attempts and No. 1 in rushing attempts this year. We did ground and pound so I'm not sure what the people who wanted ground and pound were bitching about?

I've been a fan of Schotty's since we've brought him on board, but he has frustrated me this entire season by not running more play-action plays. Yesterday was great, and I hope we keep it up.

If we had been using the game plan from week 1 we would have probably won 12 games, because I think both the Jacksonville and 1st Miami games are pushovers if we just stayed on target.

I was on the fence about Schotty. Not if he is good or sucks. I am on the fence if most of the offensive troubles stemmed from a couple of things and if that was his fault.........

1.) Jones and the Jets run game took a couple of games (at least1/4 season) to hit stride. That was because the Jets moved to a zone blocking scheme and it really took the offensive line sometime to get in sync. This was Callahans system and it took time to implement effectively.

2.) Sanchez- He is a rookie QB with a hideous ill prepared back up in Clemens. Is that Schotty? No that is more on Tanny than anyone, maybe a little bit Rex and some on Shott for not realizing Clemens sucks balls.

Sanchez looked great for 3 games. Then the reality of the NFL hit him. He was awful. It was totally expected as a rookie QB. ( At least I expected him to be completely brutal.) He got his reigns pulled back and got a color coded system. Sanchez has bottomed out and is now on the upswing. No matter what he does next week...........

3.) Lack of a true number 1 and slot WR- The Jets got Braylon game 5 I think. Despite his drops his talent is that of a number 1. He is open often and is a freakish type athlete that is legally blind and has hell boy hands. The Jets still have no slot wr and that kills them/Sanchez.

4.) TE- The Jets just do not seem to use them well. Keller has great talent and worked well with Favre, as a rookie, at a hybrid position and in some instances became his #1 target. So one would think he would have a huge year. Not. Is this Sanchez or Schotty? Mostly the former but also the latter.

As far as blocking goes the Jets have used unbalanced lines and Hartsock etc. Hartsock is a walking penalty that cost the Jets at least one game. I would consider Turner or Hunter as a blocking TE. That has been working obviously. Although the Jets need a decent blocking TE desperately.

5.) Ryan- Well it took 8-9 games and Ryan finally has realized to be a head coach, a really good to elite head coach, you have to be well rounded. He dumbed down Sanchez went way more conservative and kind of took a little bit of the big picture decision making out of Schotty's hands.

    Put it all together........

I wouldn't mind him back. I really think Ryan and Callahan has made him a better coach. It isn't like he has all the tools and just didn't utilize them properly. I think Keller being invisible is on Sanchez more so than anything. I do not think he is that bad. My one big problem is that it took so fucking long to recognize that Sanchez needs a smaller plate. Part of that is on Ryan and part of that is on Schotty. Like most of this staff, the play calling and discipline on this team has gotten significantly better. I am saying this not caring what happens on Sunday.

    Winston good post...............
