Yes, he's a pro bowl kick returner. However, in this system, though Westhoff is gone, Brad Smith, Leon Washington, and Justin Miller were also great. Here's a guy who is talking in the media about "you'll have to kill me," at a time when the team has brought in competition at running back, and he doesn't even work out in an acceptable manner in the off-season? Where's his professionalism? He's a professional athlete; working out in the offseason is his fucking job! In order to change the culture of this franchise, a message should be sent by cutting him. What do you think Parcells would have done in this situation? Cutting him effectively tells the rest of the team that you're not safe unless you bust your ass and put team first.
I like Ivory and Powell as a 1-2 anyway. Hopefully Goodson can show up and succeed. McKnight was always the odd man out. To not even try though? Not good.
Meh, I was always one of those people that lifted hard but for some reason, when practices started, I was throwing up and looked out of shape. But by the first scrimmages, I was good to go no problem. I knew plenty of guys like that. It's just your body adjusting. My little cousin does the same thing and he's all-state. He was running every day this spring and summer but first day of practice yesterday, was throwing up. I wouldn't put too much stock in this.
A lack of reasonable effort is a stark contrast to the guy whose roster spot was taken by McKnight. Yes, - I'm talking about Danny Woodhead.
We probably have not thought about this, but what if Goodson, Ivory or Powell actually did try to kill McKnight by poising him to death? That would cause you to fail your conditioning test for sure. Maybe they took him for his word.
high school practice starts with a week left in july? interesting. last year practice started at the earliest on august 15th. so are you full of shit or are you full of shit? heres a link to the 2012 rules. http://www.njsiaa.org/tournaments/2012/12footballregs.pdf
Do not understand why he should be cut right now for this... Reactionary crap. Definitely a black mark on him, particularly since he's done it before, but don't cut him now. If he struggles in camp, his spot is far from guaranteed, but no point doing it now...
If McKnighy was ever in shape he'd take back more kickoffs for TDs which means less opportunities for Sanchez to fuck up
