:) You should have mentioned that you took that hit piece from BuzzFeed, a left wing media outlet founded by a co-founder of the Huffington Post. Need I say more? :)

lol wut? How is it BS? There are a lot of comparisons between THIS campaign and the one TRUMP is currently running.

If you're a Trump supporter you know little and understand even less...

So, let me get this straight - funding wasn't immediately transferred from the EU to the NHS and immigration didn't immediately stop right after the vote? Heh. Explain again who the fools are.

(not trying to sidebar this discussion):

What I meant JWWS was whether the Brexit vote was going to bring the Spain-UK Gibraltar ownership question to an active head, i.e. beyond any Spanish overtures that were made in the months leading up to the Brexit vote, e.g. Spain slowing down or suspending daily border crossings - an economic siege of sorts.
And in the middle of this are the Gibraltarians whom 98% consider themselves to be British yet who also want to stay in the EU.

mute: awesome cut and paste and cut and paste and cut and paste and cut and paste job. :)

I'm going to celebrate this historic bout of flatulence with a round of Civilizations V. Good ol Murica will smash Britain and the rest of the puny members of the EU.

Well, there's no way there will be a "Republic of Northern Ireland" existing as its own separate country. It will either stay part of the UK, or be transferred over to the Republic of Ireland.

As part of the Good Friday Accords, they did make it somewhat independent. Rather than having Parliament make all their laws, they have their own government, but Parliament limits and monitors it closely. It's a "play nice, or we'll take the ball away" scenario, with the idea that Britain can step in. The border with the Republic became invisible, there were lots of anti-discrimination and policing reforms, disarmament, and the agreement was that if both sides of Ireland want reunification, then it will happen. There was finally peace.

When Parliament believes that both sides want to reunify, they will hold a border poll, per the agreement.

The Protestant side passionately wants to stay in the UK. They're about 55% (down from 90% or so when Ireland was split, because the Irish had a higher birth rate.) However - the Catholic/Irish side is more split, because many of them don't really care about reunification. Being part of the UK doesn't really affect their day to day life.

I think Brexit changes things. In fact, British people in Northern Ireland are running to get Irish passports now. (Irish and British citizens born in Northern Ireland are allowed to claim either or both passports/citizenships, as part of the Good Friday Accords.) Even the pro-UK leaders are encouraging their people to get Irish passports! (This is the equivalent of Tom Brady telling Patriots fans to buy NY Jets jerseys.) This tells me they value their EU citizenship more than their Britishness. This is a game changer.

Instead of the Catholics being wishy-washy about reunification and the Protestants staunchly opposing it, the Catholics will rally for reunification (to get back in the EU) and many of the Protestants will only halfheartedly oppose it (they also want to get back in the EU.) If they don't reunify, things will suck economically as EU support dries up, trade restrictions are created, and the pound weighs them down. (Imports will get expensive as the pound declines, which it will continue to do as London loses its status as the financial capital.) Reunification will offer clear economic benefits in everyday life, whereas before it did not.

So, yes, I do think that Ireland will be reunified.

Breitbart is a right wing media outlet also founded by a co-founder of Huffington Post.

I take it we should also ignore Breitbart? Or is that's okay since you lean right?

That's such a stupid argument. I always read the content posted from Breitbart or any other site posted by the posters here. You never know what you can learn from an alternate point of view. Breitbart, although a lot of articles on it are scare mongering, does do some actual good work

This is from an old Uk tv series, very british humour with a nice slap in the face to beaucracy. This clip has gone viral amongst commonwealth countries who would have seen the show .
