I wish American politicians would stop referring to our "special relationship" with Great Britain. Sounds like we're queer for each other.

as a sidebar, wonder if Spain's going to use this to try and renew the Gibraltar ownership debate with London.

I'd call it a bromance, although since UK is basically our daddy, there would be connotations of incest.

    Boner alert!

Bromance I can sort of deal with. I heard Joe Biden though, and the way he said it made it sound like we're closing our eyes and exchanging blowjobs. I don't care how good it may feel, I'm never going to be comfortable looking down and seeing whiskers on either my slippers or my crank.

2016....what a year it's gonna be. Brexit, Zika virus + Olympics, Trump maybe? Damn

They have a right to not allow who they don't want in their country. They are in an area where it affects them a whole hell of alot more then us.

Just make you think about Trump's message more and how it not only resonates here but even in the UK. Crazy times indeed all while everyone is getting angrier ...rhetoric as well

This world is no longer a friendly place.

Born to late to explore the world and I was born to early to explore space so lets just destroy what we have for the latter.

This breaks up the alliance a bit over there. Could result in major changes for European union with many nations following Britain's flight.

In the short term everything will be fine. This could be the big piece for longer term consequences.

aren't there a lot of people living and working in the UK with EU passports? It costs a lot of time and money to become a UK citizen so they mightve been in the country for years with their EU passport. Are these folks screwed now?

I don't think they are immediately, but the UK (soon to be "England") is going to have to create and issue new passports from scratch for everybody. They'll probably make some accommodation in the exit talks for those with dual citizenship and such. Honestly, I have no idea how the fuck they are going to sort that shit out and apparently the members of parliament don't know either. Best of luck to them because if it goes to hell we're more likely than not going to have to pick up the pieces. Now, if the EU manages to not shed any more countries I'd bet my last nickle they'll be looking to make an example out of our special ally.
