the final games of like the last 5 seasons could have been his last at the time. i think its a good chance he retires but im not gonna worry about. when he decides to announce one or the other ill listen to what he has to say.
It's been a fun ride with Favre, but anyone on this board who really expects him to come back next year, frankly, is naive.
This team is built well enough to succeed with either KC or Ratliff...it should also help with their development. The only thing I think the offense will need if Favre retires is a true #1 WR.
You were so great for that one season that we're gonna pay you out the ass. Welcome to Florham Park, Scott Mitchell -- I mean Matt C.!
I'm gonna wait to see the replay of Open Mic tonight. Chances are that Brett was just answering a question. Had he brought it up on his own, I could understand people being upset. He should tell them to stop asking the question though. I think they've asked him about retirement almost every week this season. Stupid reporters always looking for a scoop....
I don't think we'll know for sure until June if things go as they have in past years. However, for some reason I think the ordeal of this past offseason will force Brett to make a final decision a little sooner.
Some of you are ridiculous. Dude is 39. What do you want from him, to play another 10 years? He's either going to retire after this year or after next year, either way he's not going to be playing much longer. Personally I think he retires after this year. He will be 40 in November. That is just too damn old to play QB in the NFL. He'd be able to play for a month or two maybe, but not as a starter throughout the season. He was brought in to win this year, that is why we don't have 5 years for Mangini to figure out how to coach in the NFL. This is really his big shot with Favre. Personally I think trading for Favre was probably a mistake, but I can live without that draft pick. I think it gets pretty pricey though if we make the playoffs, a 2nd round pick for a one and done? That kinda sucks.
all of you are insane! This is Brett Favre! you all should be honored to have a QB like Favre on this team. Ridiculous! all of you! Brett is one of the greats. His leadership and knowledge of the game have directly lead to the success of our offense. You think T.J. is breaking franchise records with Ratliff or Clemmenshappyfeet? hell no! Every defense (yes even pittsburg) will be respecting the pass, no matter how many times schotty calls short pennington like plays, or wacky hand offs and pitches with Brad smith or now matter how many times Leon SHOULD have gotten the ball the other defense will respect Brett Freakin Favre. I for one am grateful to all hell we get him this year. He is and will always be my favorite NFL player. His passion is unmatched and he genuinely loves to play the game. A player like him comes around once in a life time. To All of you fellow Jet fans BUCK UP. hold your head high when those other fans pop sh*T. Yes, we may not win the super bowl, but we love watching our team.
I'd like to see him make the postseason one last time, but I think it would be in both party's best interest if he hung em up after this year. With another year to improve on what this team already has, I can't wait to see what we have in Ratty/Clemens. I think that's a little harsh. It's hard to know what you have in a QB when he plays his first season as a starter with one of the worst teams in the league. He showed some good signs last year.. not saying he's necessarily starting material, but I wouldn't give up on him just yet. edited
They have to dink it out on the national stage. Seal the division in front of everyone. We have way more talent AND SHOULF F*CKIN WIN
