Two weeks ago... everybody in the locker room were excited... it was reasurring to see all the excitement in the locker room with all those guys...
"Do I wnat the Jets to do better than the Packers? Absolutely! But hey, I don't have any animousity toward those guys... Hey Brett, thanks for coming on the show... "Thanks."
Michael Kay never ceases to amaze me. Way to give NY's pride and joy a peek of what New Yorkers are really like Douchebag!
It was a bit of a prick question lol. I think Favre answered all the tough ones well. Ignorant for him to ask them but people do want to know if there is animosity etc.
That was a nice interview. I don't care what anyone says, he's a really good guy. He seems to understand fully what he's facing and what needs to be done, and they're doing it. I liked the sound of all that. I particularly liked it when he said he wouldn't be rooting against the Packers, but does he want to Jets to do better than them? ABSOLUTELY! That's how I feel too.
If anyone missed the interview it will be here in a few hrs... http://stations.espn.go.com/stations/1050espnradio/show?showId=mkay1
No questions about his sideline frowns? He does sound very impressed by Keller. Hopefully they hook up a lot this season.
No. The Jets have already addressed that with the addition of their new Smile coach. http://forums.theganggreen.com/showthread.php?t=34685&page=5
General Impressions: 1) He's a Jet now. I think that's been the main concern... "Is he coming here to just pick up an extra, career-extending paycheck, "Ty Law Style?" I think the answer is "No." 2) He's got good off-field chemistry going with the guys... has the ability to slap 'em on the back and win 'em over. If he can translate that into on-field performance, we've got a chance at the playoffs. 3) Coaching issues? None. He's stated he's always had a lot of respect for all his coaches, basically says everything is cool and he sees no reason for that to change. 4) Coles issues? Not according to him. Talked to Coles and does not want to interfere with his friendship with Chad and totally understands, but let's move forward and win games, dude. 5) Seems to be losing his affiliation with the Packers. Still has friends on the team and wishes them well, but if push comes to shove, he wants the Jets to excel. 6) Most important: he thinks this team has great potential. He as much as stated so. As direct as he's been with other questions and as honest as he's been with other issues, I have reason to believe that his evaluation of this team is honest and that he does, indeed, feel this team can go somewhere. 7) No Promises: If you're looking for any, it ain't gonna happen. And that's fine with me, because (aside from Joe Willie in 1969), those things just about never pan out.
Lol, I can't figure out all that either. I didn't notice Brett looking any different on the sideline than he ever has before. If he starts that goofy smiling for no reason, like I know something you don't, crap which is a pet peeve of mine, I'm going to be holding Jets fans accountable for ruining a legendary QB.
Ty Law played the Rent-A-Whore circuit with much success, aided by none other than the one and only Herm Edwards. There are absolutely no comparisons between Law and Favre that I can see. I was pretty much against this deal at first, but I now see this guy as someone who could be here beyond 1-2 years, the end of his career only surfacing with age limitations, not other desires or loyalties.
I was a bit concerned when we first got him that he sounded a bit like Glavine when he came to the Mets. Actually, even after being here 5 years I never believed Glavine was ever truly happy being a Met. In contrast, Favre has been here less than 2 weeks and he sounds more believeable than Glavine ever did...
lol i cant stand michael kay hes so anoying thinkin hes the voice of the yankees and all that, but yea what a dumb question to ask favre, but overall the interview sounds good, what an amazing pick up for the jets
