If you have two starting QBs, then you have zero starting QBs.

If they release him that $30 million will count against their cap. Let someone else pay for it. I love Brett Favre, but I think he's out of line here.

I gotta say that at this point Penny is one of the most reliable veteran backups in the game right now. I don't doubt a lot of teams would love to have him in that capacity for the upcoming season. We'll see what kind of team player he actually is when he realizes that's his job here too.

Minnesota: I'd take Kellen over Jackson who has a killer O-line and has nothing to show for it. I'd take Penny over Frerotte, even if the advantage is nothing more than familiarity with both the system and the players especially (something that also gets overlooked when listing his pros). Ainge and Booty are a tossup at this point. I'd like to give Bollywood a shout out, heya heya, but that's about all at this point.

Chicago: Wrecks has a heckuvan arm, but he tosses gems as much as he does the game away. Reminds me of a young Vinny, but not the guy that the ball-control team to which we are aspiring needs at this point. Advantage: Clemens. I'll take Penny over Orton. Ainge over Hanie.

49ers: Ur right...I'd take Smith over Kellen at this point, but the rest of their QBs are garbage...bet they'd love to have Penny. Ainge is better than the other 2. So overall pointswise, it's a wash, but again...I'll take Alex Smith in the end.

Kansas City: Croyle and Clemens are a tossup, but Clemens was rated higher by every draftnik in the country, so I'll take him. Penny is better than Huard. Ainge over Thigpen.

Doesn't someone around here have that in their sig? Fair enough...but I said two viable starting QBs, which means that either one can start...that's a good thing. Most teams have need of a second starting quality QB when the first one's name isn't Brady or Manning (the P kind).

they shouldn't release him, if for no other reason than that 2 of his most likely destinations are in their own division. and almost all of them are in the nFC, why enrich a competitior for no return. If someone wants to make a trade for him that would make sense, but a release isn't a good strategic move for the pack.

so sick of this drama queen.

The entire mess is his fault.

The entire world does not revolve around you, Favre. Get over it.

Exactly ---- the CAP hit is ridiculous. Not to mention the fact that the guy has been f--king w/their offseason plans for the past few years. They've been trying to draft his replacement for some time now. They spent a 2nd rounder on Brian Brohm this year knowing that Rodgers was the only QB on their roster.....................until Favretard decides to rethink the whole thing yet again.

GB should stick to their guns to make sure they get a draft pick out of this whole mess. But let him go anywhere ---- even if its some other division team. It'll only end up being 2 years at the most.

^ his salary is $12 million for 2008, why would the cap hit be $30 million? Also, couldn't he just rework his deal to the vet min (1 season) and then be released to prevent that from happening?

I'm just asking - not trying to be argumentative.
