I kinda like your thinking.....trade Sauce for offensive weapons to surround our new QB....BUT we already have a stout O-Line, BOTH tackles are set. We already have Garrett Wilson, a top 5-10 WR. We already have Breece, and we seem to have a really good TE in Mason Taylor. Our Offense is NOT starting from scratch. Be are ARE missing is a young Aaron Rodgers/Mahomes under center.
We'll most likely us our 2026 draft haul for a QB, then use our 2027 draft haul to trade up/down/all around to stock up on Defense?

It was a little bit of an image thing with Sauce Gardner. I liked his play, I thought from a pure physical standpoint he could be one of the all time greats in this league actually.

but he didn’t want to get dirty or wet, he didn’t want contact, he was big into social media promotion, gold chains, “ice spice” whatever. That’s all fine. But that stuff is for mercenary corners. That's not something you want as a core for your team, as the leader or captain.

In Indy they have their core in place. they have their gritty, tough leaders, he doesnt have to take on the face of their team. He can just come in and be Sauce Gardner. We dont have our core, and this helps us try to get that.

The first round picks are meaningless compensation. Getting Adonai Mitchell will guarantee the Superbowl for the Jets. IFKYK

I would be shocked if Hall is here next year, I believe atleast Simpson and AVT are on expiring contracts, we desperately need WR help, probably a high pick and obviously a QB. This offense still needs help, do we need to sink all of our picks into it? I hope not because we now have gaping holes on D we need to fill.

I hope he stays. He's very valuable as a dual threat.

Top cover corners are divas. Just like top wide receivers. Comes with the territory.

Great that we got first round picks. Select somebody as good as Sauce, and get a QB. Then we'll talk.

that’s kinda my point though. When a diva is the leader of your franchise the rest of the team takes on diva qualities. They are soft, distracted, and not fundamentally sound. Boy have we seen that

the Jets don’t need a CB as good as Sauce. They need to rebuild the franchise that is more fundamentally sound. Then you grab a diva corner at the trade deadline when you are contenders again

We need him, but I agree he doesn't set the tone. He's a luxury, not a necessity.

It would be a shame to lose both AVT and Simpson. Between the two of them, I think I would rather keep Simpson. Why? He seems to be "the enforcer" on that OL. Yeah, he gets flagged a lot but usually it's because someone on the defense did something dirty to one of our guys. He's very protective of Fields for sure. Moreso than even Glenn or anyone else on the OL and I think you need a guy like that on the field. I'd rather live with Simpson's protection flags over Sauce with his big yardage, ill-timed PI's.

I saw this somewhere else, so I don't take credit. Sauce just got his first two picks of the season for the Jets. LOL
