I'm still all in on Walt. He has done some horrible shit but he's a great character and we've gotten to see plenty of his good side. Skylar has been a bitch and completely hateable since the first episode. Maybe she has some good qualities but we certainly haven't seen them. I do agree about the first 3 episodes being pretty damn depressing though, the Saul scenes were really the only ones that broke up the horrible shit.
It's a very depressing show, man. Walt has entered the drug world - nothing good can come out of this. It seems to me like Jesse is trying to get clean and Walt is going to go deeper into the abyss. This season is going to be a hell of a ride.
No. One, She won't be part of cooking the books, but he's still a crook. No different than Walt. Two...Her little power play now evens things out divorce wise. However, I think the IFT was just the impetus to get him back to cooking.
She is absolutelty complicit in helping Tim cook the books. As an accountant she knows that she is way over the line.
That brings a better thought. Suppose, Tim (and by extension) her get caught...She'll need Walts $$$$$ for a lawyer...hmmm...
But.She'll have to come a grovelling, before he says no. (And he would do it anyway. He doesn't want her behind bars when he kicks.)
I read an article a few weeks back that said Walt is going to become progressively more evil throughout this season. After I.F.T., I think Walt would rather have his kids go to Hank and Marie...who don't have kids of their own.
I think they are both going down that road. Walt: Then who are you ? Jesse: 'I'm the bad guy' Before IFT that was the most chilling line of the third season... The previews for this episode looked bad ass.
You think Jesse will become Heisenberg? I know they've already profiled him as an older, bald guy...but there's no proof to that. If not, Walt will have to become the Kingpin...and he'll be a bad motherfucker now that he's got nothing left.
I think the funny part of this show is that everyone is Breaking Bad. It doesn't matter which character and how good, they pretty much all do. This show isn't anymore depressing than The Wire which is the 2nd best show I have ever seen. It happens when they delve into dark places that few shows have the balls to go or do it nearly as well. I hated Anna Gunn from Deadwood (the absolute only actor on the show I didn't like out of 50+) and really don't like her much now. She is so damn wooden. However, this was her best episode, I kind of thought the whole IFT was kind of funny. She is breaking bad as well. As an aside the actress is about 50 times better looking in person than on the show....go figure. Right now this is the best show on tv. It is certainly better than Dexter and I am blanking on any other really good ones atm.
Last I saw, she said she would not be complicit in cooking the books, so you really got no argument Hobbes. Either way, are you really trying to compare tax fraud with meth manufacture, gang warfare, and spousal neglect? Silly man. It would seem at this time that the only reason she hit that shit was to get some sort of power back in her helpless position. If you watch the scene, she didn't jump on dude's dick out of any sort of lust, but because of the situation she felt she was put in. Sure, she's wanted to act on her attraction before, but the helplessness Walt made her feel is what put her over the edge. She is doing what she feels is best for the kids. Tax cheats don't have twin maladjusted mexican assassins visiting their house and endangering their family. Apples and oranges.
I agree. For me, Breaking Bad has surpassed Sons of Anarchy and Dexter to become my favorite show. I think Bryan Cranston is the difference maker.
i think this weeks episode is when all the shits gonna hit the fan, theyve been setting up storylines for the whole season with the first 3 episodes.
Just because she won't sign any documents that are obviously fraudulent (until they has been fixed) does not mean it is ok for her to approve any financial statements if she knows that the owner of the company is involved in fraud. As a fiduciary, she would lose her CPA license (if she has one) and could go to jail. She would also be liable to civil litigation. Skyler isn't just helping a criminal, Skyler is a criminal. White collar criminal but a criminal just the same. She didn't sleep with Tim for her kids, she only did it because it was the quickest way she could think of to get Walt out of the house. What Skyler doesn't understand is that while Walt was her bitch to order around, Heisenberg doesn't take shit from anyone. She is treading on thin ice and will soon realize just how bad a position she is in.
She specifically said she wouldn't sign fraudulent documents...not a criminal. That is what I just said. Speculative at best.
I don't give a damn that she isn't helping out Beneke commit fraud. She's still an incredibly cold person and a total bitch. I think what some of the previous posters are trying to say is this: Skyler completely ripped Walt's heart out after finding out he's a criminal...and then she goes and sleeps with one to hurt her husband. Fuck her. I hope Tuco's cousins hack her to pieces.
Haha, another great turn by Saul. I love how he has 'We the People' emblazoned on his wall. What a scuzz.
man what a great episode, the opening scene with jesse and the girl was intense. that hour last night felt like a minute, man i cant wait till next week.
