Well they thought the plane crash was a contrived thing to manipulate the audience. I suppose that can work into a loose interpretation of the definition......... Honestly, I am not haggling with those brainiacs over the English language. Math, yes, English and definitions, fuck no. Edit: Their chief complaint is that it was something they would find in a crappier show like Lost, a show which treats their audience a bit different........meh
So far they've misunderstood deus ex machina and they've equated Breaking Bad to Lost... because they both had plane crashes. I don't think you're dealing with brainiacs here.
It was not deus ex machina....at all. The plane crash was built into the plot throughout the season, unknowingly to the viewers (until after the fact). See the following episode titles from Season 2: Episode 1: Seven Thirty-Seven Episode 4: Down Episode 10: Over Episode 13: ABQ And in defense of LOST, they did not employ deus ex machina either.....despite that being the title of Season 1, Episode 19. While many people did not like the way LOST ended, it was very much in line with themes of the show. If people don't like creative, risk-taking shows, I'm sure there is a CSI somewhere for them to watch.
No they are actually smart fuckers..........but I am not going to argue whether they are right or wrong because I don't agree with them. Personally I just was waiting 5 years to use Deus ex machina in a post here......... Besides, that I would rather be dead than argue like some useless mouth breather you just mentioned.
I don't give a shit it isn't my argument, I am not the one making it. I am just relaying a complaint.
Hank FTW! (for the third time in this series) 1. Boom! headshot #1 2. Boom! headshot #2 3. Fingerprints
I'm not feeling that, but you never know. So any ideas on the conversation behind closed doors between Gus and the Mexican? Gus: Well, very nice to meet you young man, but respectfully tell your boss to go shit in his hat. If he would like further contact, kindly let him know I will be waiting for him in the TT forum. About Walt plotting to kill Gus... The longer he keeps things sane the more money he makes for his family. Wasn't that the whole point? Has he completely lost perspective, which was his best trait to start the show?
No, I think that's a little too stereotypical and predictable for Breaking Bad. It's natural for what's-his-name and Gomez to be skeptical of Hank at first. Gus is squeaky clean, a major donor to the DEA, and just about the last person that seems like he'd be a meth lord. I think that they're initial reaction was just about the same as Hank's would be if someone told him that Walt was Heisenberg. Once Hank pulled out the fingerprints though, you could tell that he had their attention.
I'm not thinking this way because Gomez and the boss were skeptical about Hank's accusation. He definitely had their attention after bringing out the fingerprints...but wouldn't you haven an "oh, shit" reaction if something that big was uncovered? I doubt it happens, but I wouldn't be surprised either.
I think Gus was a little intimidated by that dude. Walt can't make any money if Gus kills him. He knows that it could happen at anytime too. Things stopped becoming sane when he ran those two spaggots over with the Aztek in S3. He's completely different from the start of the show. It's like he's almost fully turned into Heisenberg.
That is what you call an emmy winning episode right there. The guy who plays Pinkman just nailed one of the best performances I've seen on TV in a freaking long time (i.e. rehab meeting scene) Hank the tank is back!...I think he will assume Gus is Heisenberg and kills guy instead of Mike. Mike will probably get killed by Pinkman. Would be nuts.
Didn't the creator say that on a scale of 1 to 10 with 1 being an innocent nobody and 10 being scarface walts a 6 right now is a 7 by seasons end? Can't wait to see that unfold
