Shits going down next week ... W.W to the rescue though, will Mike be the guy that goes down? Or will they both join forces to take down Gus? I don't see that happening at all but who knows

Best episode of the early season so far

Good stuff as always. Skylar is getting fat as hell, and the extended scene with her wasn't needed. Jesse is going to kill Mike, IMHO.

Jesse will either kill Mike or he'll convince him to join him and Walter.

I'm hoping the Fixer joins forces with Captain Cook and Heisenberg.

*Anna Gunn must've sucked off Vince Gilligan in between season three and four. She's been getting way too much screen time.

I don't think that's the direction this is going at all.

Superficially, we're led to believe that Mike is driving Jesse to his doom. That's not what I think is happening at all. I think we're going to see some pretty intense male/killer bonding.

If I wanted to read a little deeper into it, I think Mike saw something from Jesse he didn't know was there this episode. Jesse's callousness when Mike presented him with the thief didn't surprise me at all- it fits in with my "Jesse is now a sociopath" theory.

What did surprise me (and Mike, I believe) was Jesse's comment about how he knew Mike wouldn't execute the guy. "You wouldn't have gone through all the trouble of blindfolding him." That's perceptive. That's very perceptive, and I think that gave Mike an idea that Jesse isn't just some useless, drug-addled liability; he might be a good apprentice.

That's what I think will happen next episode; Mike's going to take Jesse under his wing.

Jesse Pinkman is not a sociopath. That became completely obvious when he freaked out when Walter was asking him about the details of Gale's murder.

Mike the Fixer is not as important as Pinkman. Jesse will find a way out of this.

I can definitely see Gus trying to manipulate Jesse through Mike. Jesse can cook too. They may be trying to turn Jesse against Walter.

The irony of it all is Walt saying "Why can't anyone act professional in this business?"

His stance on professionalism regarding the drug industry is a 180 from its reality.

The professional thing to do in the drug industry is to wax those who are liabilities.

Come on Walt, you're better than that.

That was a great episode. As the #1 Skylar hater I thought that scene was perfect, this season has been pretty depressing so far and Walt was hilarious through that entire exchange. Where is the "I slept with my boss" bullet point? Even he's completely fed up with the cunt at this point.

I loved it when Walt apologized and Skyler actually thought he was serious.

I thought that this was one of the better episodes that the show's ever had--just unbelievably tense and well written all the way through.

I hate Skyler, but I loved the scene with her and Walt and didn't think that it went on too long at all. It was important for the writers to remind us of why Walt and Skyler's business partnership is gonna be so fucked up, and it set up the actual dinner scene perfectly.

Speaking of great writing, the line about how Walt can always bend an ear for Hank (after Mike got shot in the ear and had it physically bent in the first scene) cracked me up. As did Saul's scooter joke.

I've been thinking about it for a while now, and I feel like Mike is taking Pinkman back to rehab.

I don't see rehab doing Jesse much good--in his mind he's the bad guy now, so I can't see him ever working the steps again. I do think that Mike trying to get him to go back is plausible though.

My prediction: he's taking him to talk to Gus.

You tend to think something other than Pinkman getting killed.

But, they sort have written him off already this season. Making his role substantially less. Preparing the audience for him to get waxed.

That said, Breaking Bad's writers are better than this. So my guess is there's a spin point coming...like your idea of rehab or a realignment in personnel.

I was saying to my buddy yesterday, what if Walt and Jesse recruit Mike as their fixer and then Mike has to go against Gus's fixer (mysterious black guy) like Spy v. Spy?

hahaha Spy vs. Spy - niiiiice.

Mike would fuck that dude up in an instant.

Pinkman's not going to die anytime soon. There's only been four episodes. Gus has only been in two of them. Other things are being focused on early: Skyler's involvement, the car wash, and Hank getting back into the game.

I've said this a couple times in this thread: I think Jesse Pinkman will be the one that comes out alive.

With that said, he'll probably get shot in the face next week.
