Besides Breaking Bad (obviously), I'll probably just watch Wilfred and True Blood. Any other recommendations?
no idea lol...Ill be watching just Breaking Bad...And start watching The Wire. yes, I am one of few who has never seen this show
I actually never really watched Entourage in order. It's usually pretty funny though. If certain shows suck this summer, I might start watching it from the beginning. I stopped watched Weeds after the third season. I get pissed when I recommend Breaking Bad and people always ask: "...so it's just like Weeds?" No, it's fucking not. Curb Your Enthusiasm is great.
Well don't worry about anything than, you are going to have a great summer. The Wire is a great show, very similar to BB, in that it takes a little bit to get going. Once it does though it is like a force of nature. The Wire differs in that it has a much bigger scope. The cast is huge. However, the writing and acting are superb.
Early Entourage is very good, the last few years the show turns to the "so bad it's good" territory. LMAO at BB being anything close to Weeds.
Damages is a pretty good show the first 2 seasons are on Netflix. It's a serialized law show with a lot more murder of major characters than say law and order.
Entourage is a fun show, def. check it out from the beginning if you have time. Weeds is a good show in its own right (save for season 4 which fucking sucked) but BB is untouchable
A few of my friends told me that after season three Weeds went downhill, so I just stopped watching it. If Wilfred sucks, I'll probably end up watching Entourage from the beginning. I'm sure I'll need something to lighten up my TV schedule, because season four of Breaking Bad is supposed to be incredibly dark.
Watch Louie instead of Wilfred, it pretty much looks like the dumbest show ever made. The fact that I've been seeing promos for it on FX for at least a year and it hasn't made it on the air yet is probably not a good sign either.
I think it has a chance to be pretty hilarious. FX advertised for shows like Damages, Rescue Me, Sons of Anarchy, and Justified for a really long time before it aired and that worked out pretty well for the network.
I don't have Showtime, but I heard good things about Weeds so I bought the season 1 DVD a few years back. I watched the first couple episodes and that was it. I thought the show sucked. I am now through Season 2 of Breaking Bad. I watched the first episode on June 11, so it took me 15 days to watch the first 20 episodes. I'll soon buy Season 3 and be ready for the new season by July 17. Also, Wilfred looks like an asshole show. I can't see how it could possibly be good.
Well, I think the show is great. When it first aired I was busy watching something else or doing something else and simply didn't give it a shot. My father was watching it from day one and raving about it and I knew the first few episodes were critically acclaimed. Later I saw the thread here but just never got around to watching the show. Last year my parents went on vacation and I stayed over their house to watch the dogs. My father had me record the season 3 finale on a VCR. I went to turn it off at 11:00 but the show was still on so I stayed with it till the end. Then, this year, while watching several encore presentations of The Killing (because I missed the 10:00 airing and do not have a DVR), I kept the channel on AMC and would watch the opening scene of BB episodes. I liked the ones I saw (one was of the two brothers horsing around and then one having his head held underwater by his uncle) and finally had had enough- I had to buy the DVDs and start watching. The Killing, as much as it frustrated many of us, was a positive for me because that program finally made me start watching Breaking Bad. Anyway, to answer your question I liked all the episodes. If I had to pick one I guess I'd go with "Grilled." As for favorite scenes- -Jesse hallucinating that the two religious nuts knocking of his door were actually motorcycle gang members -when Walt introduced himself to Tuco -being held hostage by Tuco -the bellringer in the interrogation room -Jane choking on her own vomit (the look in Walt's eyes as he realized he should leave her on her back so she could die was great acting)
I like the "claustrophobic" episodes too. The episode when the RV doesn't start after Walt and Jesse cook in the desert is one of my favorites. There's an episode in season three called Fly that is great.
