So you think, based on this the "idiots" comment, it is directed at Tanny moreso than Rex? If so, I agree. Since Tanny is the GM, I stand by my thoughts that even the Jets wouldn't be dumb enough to sign him. It's not like Tanny will go to Woody and say, "I know he called us idiots yesterday, but I think we need to sign this guy ASAP."

Very, VERY dumb move by Edwards. Since he is now almost 2 years removed from being a productive player, as well as the off field baggage he brings, he needs to stay far away from an already shaky, undisciplined, locker room.

did he play pretty well or did he play excellent? which one?

I can answer that. it wasn't the excellent option.

I have no qualms with anyone saying he played pretty well for a second year QB. he did at spots, but he mostly played pretty well in comparison to how he played his rookie year by reducing his turnovers.

The down fall of this team started with the Jets letting Edwards go. I would bring him back cause he was the only receiver that Sanchez could actually throw too. We haven't had a deep threat since he left and our receivers have been garbage since he left. The signing of Plax was a jok. Your telling me a guy who was on the wrong side of 30 coming out of a two year stint in jail was the best option? Chaz Schillens couldn't catch if his life depended on him.

I hope Braylon is back next year. He and Sanchez have good chemistry and we get to watch him do the dougie on Patriot DBs.

The Jets are in the media business. Woody needs to pull a Vince McMahon and sign this beast.

Bad timing by Braylon, I would love if the Jets signed him but it's not gonna happen smh.

The Jets chose Holmes over Edwards because he was the better player, simple as that. If the Jets had kept Braylon over Holmes, the offense wouldn't be any more effective. Because those guys complimented each other. Holmes started getting double teamed more because we didn't have a deep threat. Holmes was effective as a yards after the catch receiver. Defenders had to pick their poison, either double Holmes or get burnt deep, or double Braylon and get hurt underneith with Holmes.

Neither guy was/is a true number 1 receiver but they complimented each other pretty well.

    They won't sign Braylon

Woody and co. have too much pride to admit they made a mistake choosing Thugtonio over Braylon

Then Tanny should have brought them BOTH back, and not changed up all of Mark's WR's.

Considering how painfully true this is, it just shows how much Tannenbaum needs to be taken out as GM.

    *sigh*

Again, no great fan of Holmes, but I'd love for someone to explain to me how choosing a guy who caught 51 passes and eight touchdowns in 2011 - and was well on his way to eclipsing those numbers before getting injured this season - over a guy who has caught 23 balls total over the last two seasons was an egregious error. Braylon's this "__" freakin' close to being out of the league, for God's sake. Get real, folks. With so many legit gripes to aim at management, it's ridiculous to try to make something out of the Holmes-over-Braylon decision.

Braylon was available this off season but instead lets go with Chaz Schillens and Clyde Gates, I'm sure we'll be much better off.

What's even more funny is that we could have essentially gotten him for the same price as those two bonafide scrubs. But hey tannenbaum, keep looking for that Victor Cruz comes out of nowhere feel good story player! I'm sure he'll show up sooner or later!

I don't buy that excuse that we don't gave enough Talent around Sanchez. Keller, Kurley; Even schilins has experience. Its the Quarter back that raises the level of play of his receivers. The fact of the matter is Sanchez is an average Quarter back. Its up to Sanchez to find the open guys and they are getting open. He continues to fail and My fear is they start him again this week , because he "Gives us the best chance to win".

there was a point in the offseason of 2011 that the jets could have had Braylon. I understand that Edwards wanted a lot of money at one point, but eventually he was willing to take less money and the Jets chose Plaxico instead. BTW I didn't have a problem with the Plaxico signing, it's making him a number 2 receiver is what the problem was. Why not offer the money to Braylon instead of Plax? I'm sure Braylon would have taken the deal. That way you keep the recieving corp intact.

Who cares? There's nothing, nada, zero to suggest Braylon would be any better than Schilens or Gates. Plus, Gates has some value as a kick returner.
