I don't think they could even negotiate things like disciplinary stuff, drug policies, etc until the union got recertified? If anything influenced the timing of this it was the upcoming FA, nobody was going to give him a big-money deal if there was still a chance he could go to jail.
I think we could end up with Edwards when it said and done. He can realistically be headed to Jail form 6 months or longer for breaking parole. The judges have been cracking down on player, just ask Burress... Only a real hard up team is gining him big money with another hearing scheduled...
I disagree, most clubs will write clauses into the contract to cover them if he stuffs up. Anyway, if he does something stupid it's likely that the court case wouldn't be held this season.
