According to the New York Post, Jets coach Rex Ryan is "so infuriated" at Braylon Edwards' DWI arrest that he is "strongly considering" benching the receiver in Week 3.
What does the league punishes for a a DWI? I think this is his first DWI while in the NFL. Anyone know any past incidents? Ellis' was DWTH (driving while totally high)

I think you've let the line between a selfish Jets fan and an honest, rational person get a little blurry here. Money is no object to these pro athletes. A couple of game checks is lunch money to Edwards. Do you really think that is going to teach him a lesson? I'm not trying to argue the point that sitting him won't hurt the team. If it does, so be it. Clearly BE didn't give a shit about the team or he wouldn't have put his life and the lives of others at stake by getting behind the wheel of a vehicle drunk. Like Rex always says, "it's not about one guy". If the rest of the team can't step up and find a way to beat Miami without Edwards, then that's on them, not Braylon.
Who knew that there were a bunch preachy teetotaler types amongst the Jet fans? I am sure everyone leaving the game on Sunday was under .08. No one would let anyone drive home from a game that was over .08...Oh the humanity.
Edwards isn't in the substance abuse program currently, like Ellis was. So a mandatory suspension is not called for.
