This is a bizarre post. You're spraying bullets all over the place, hoping one will hit. Who ever said his behavior had anything to do with some perception of the team's response? Who ever said anything about suspending Edwards to send a message to the team? It's about the way Roger runs his league and the way the Jets have been perceived as of late. I love the brashness, but it does carry with it a certain risk. Public perception DOES matter in the NFL, right or not. If it didn't, Big Ben NEVER would have been suspended for 4 games without a criminal conviction. Misconduct isn't a legal term. For the record, I DON'T think it's right. It IS, however, the way things currently operate. Looks like this is a moot point anyway. Glauber reports that he CAN'T be suspended for a DUI, which is very good news as it gives the Jets a legitimate reason not to lose him for a game while losing as little face in the public eye as possible. I'd imagine they still seek a fine.
Dead weight? TD and 2PC, 45 yards on 5 catches, 2nd leading in Sunday's game. Not dead weight. Needed now without Holmes. Hell, needed with Holmes. 1 good game? Please watch the highlights of the the Fins game from last year. His first game with us, am I right? What he did was wrong and the legal system is in place to handle events like this. The Jets and the NFL have no jurisdiction in the streets of Manhattan..
Actually, most people were saying he should not be signed next year, suspended x number of games, etc. Just typical TGG overreactions. He should be fined, he should sit the game Holmes comes back, and we should move on. I cannot stand how self righteous some of the people in this thread come across. He's a dumb kid that made a stupid mistake. I had a DUI a long time ago, paid for my mistake, and learned my lesson. 99% of the people killing him here probably speed, use their cell phone while driving, etc. Glass houses and all that.
Yeah seriously, why have a WR with one DUI when we can have one with two? That is what I call an upgrade.
What you want to discuss the DUI he got several months ago? Fixing a problem with another problem normally bites you in the ass over time!
Incarcerated Bob is very persistent on Twitter that the Jets will have Braylon inactive for Miami. He is the only one saying this right now so who knows. But good lord can we go one week without being a mjor headline? Revis all camp, Jenkins week 1, Revis week 2, now Braylon week 2 1/2.
Bro! @joeandevan Braylon Edwards was just arrested for 9/11, oh the pain! 10:06 AM Sep 20th via Twitter for iPad Retweeted by you Reply Retweeted (Undo)
I'm more concerned with him playing his music too loud while driving. Personally, I think he should have been fined 100k and suspended for the playoff game.
And I was just thinking that as banged up as our defense is right now, our offense was in really good shape.
The Dolphins have a list of players with issues including DUI and they all start.... Including Ronnie Brown... For us to sit Braylon would be ridiculous.
That's cool bro. Guys, lets all have a more liberal attitude toward drunk driving because fenwyr was guilty of it and paid for his mistake.
How do you know 99% of the people killing him probably speed or use their cell phone while driving? Who are you to make that assumption?
Yeah but football isn't a stupid man's sport. You have to understand a lot of complicated strategy, and most of these guys get college degrees. And then on top of that the NFL gives them long meetings about getting drivers if you're drinking, taking the keys from other guys (passenger I'm looking at you), etc.. Makes no sense
He also swore that the Jets were seriously considering Haynesworth and that Revis will be out 5 weeks for a strained hammy. He's a douche.
