You watch him and you can just see his head is in the game. He gives a sh*t and thats all I ask for now. Next year I expect him to be more involved and to have better hands. I also ecpect Sanchez to mature and utilize Edwards' big, physical presence.

His blocking for the run game is incredible and more than makes up for any of the drops he had. The only big time drop was the 2 pt conv vs JAC and he was hit as the ball came in so I can't put the blame on him for that. Otherwise any other drops haven't cost us a game.

When our D & ST collapsed vs Miami, Sanchez & Edwards were the playmakers keepin us in the game.

Here's hoping that BE is our Moss/TO without the baggage *fingers crossed*

I like braylon. I think he does not get used right by shotty bc shotty sucks. I can't speak for his attitude once he gets his $$. I think he is a risk. I would take a shot a re upping him at the right price.

    Incentive laden deals for edwards.

I honestly don't get why more contracts don't get structured based on incentives, well I do get it, but it makes sense for both sides in my eyes any ways.

Make it so that Edwards gets a base of 3.5 million every year, and for every 20 catches he gets, he receives an extra .5 million dollars. For every 5 TD catches he receives 1.5 million dollars. 1000 yards = 1 million dollar bonus, and every 150 yards over 1000 receives an extra .2 million.

Say he goes totally insane and produces NFL records with these stats 143 receptions 1848 yards and 21 touchdowns he gets paid 15 million for the year. I would think he earned every cent of which, but at the same time if he totally flops, and he only catches 50 balls for 887 yards and 6 TDs, then he only gets paid 6 million dollars, which is damn fair for his level of production

I understand why this doesnt ever happen because then teams can't pay a player peanuts while he outperforms his contract, and the player doesnt want to take less money in any year should he have a down year or gets hurt or whatever...

But it would allow teams to show more loyalty to a player because once they start to age, they don't need to be cut because they won't have assine cap numbers to be backups. It would prevent busts like Gholston making 21 million no matter what, and from a player perspective they would never be able to outperform their contract and be underpaid because they get paid based on production this year, not years past.

    Yup.

And you already have Sanchez, Keller, Washington, Shonn, as fairly young players in the same offense.

Draft one more wideout high (1st or 2nd round) the year after next, groom Woodhead as a slotman, and (barring injury) you are set at the skill positions for a decade.

Edwards impresses me more every game. Like others I wish he did not have the drops, but that's his main weakness. Meanwhile he's an athletic presence who draws defenders, opening up the overall O. Downfield blocking is another thing he adds. So far his attitude has been great and the opposite of what his detractors feared.

He doesn't have to be a top ten receiver in the league to be worth keeping. Great balance for Cotch and Keller. The FO needs to keep him.

I love Edwards on this team, his big play ability is awesome to have, I didn't expect much out of him this year because of a rookie QB and the reception clause on his trade deal, and no experience with Sanchez. Next year I expect plenty of 100 yard games from him.

They want people more concerned about winning then their individual stats.
