I'll go ahead and point out that a sweep this weekend would make the magic number 5. I hope they win this series, I don't like fearing the Phillies.
during the 9th inning and right after the game there was a massive mocking Tomahawk Chop/Appachee warcall from fans walking out of Shea tonight. So freakin' sweet after years of failure and postseason dreams dashed by the Braves. Great win tonight, though I must say, Mota should be De-Mota-ed to the minors
Well this is my ever post in a baseball forum. I had to stay home today to look after my sick son so decided to put the game on. It started at 9am Sydney time. It was pretty good to watch but didn't get exciting until the last few innings. I found that having the game on while doing other things like reading books/playing trains with my son was a good way to watch. I could just look up when something happened. I can't imagine sitting with full attention for 3 hours but I have to put things into perspective. I don't know the subtleties of baseball. I can sit and watch Cricket all day as it is my sport of choice and I imagine you fellas would be bored after 10 minutes. Anyway, I enjoyed it, well done to the Mets and thanks for having me in the baseball forum.
Welcome aboard, and glad you weren't too bored! Your analogy with cricket is quite apt, since I watched that on TV the first time I was in London, and had to turn it off after 10 minutes before I went batty.
