    What a freaking joke. He's not excited enough to be pitching in the 8th inning? And this guy is supposed to be a professional?

    In his last 12 appearances he's pitched 12 1/3 innings, and has a 1.70 WHIP and 6.57 ERA. He can take his "lack of excitement" and stick it somewhere.

    Sheffield has looked surprisingly good today. Since he will obviously keep playing, I choose to think it's because he's breaking out of a slump.

    I have the feeling that it is more about injury than any motivation (which I don't think he lacks any) otherwise I seriously doubt that he would be here.

    Now I haven't watched them play much but I think stuff wise there has been a decent dropoff from the beginning of the season

    I don't know, they were his words. If you're going to start making excuses doesn't battling an injury sound better than saying that you don't have enough adrenaline pitching in the 8th inning?
