I bag on Feliciano because he has been bad all year, I blame Reyes for the garbage error, I blame Jerry for keeping Feliciano versus the right hander, and I blame Feliciano for making a close game and making it completely out of reach.
Blame it on Craig Carton who la-la-la-locked it up. He's an f'n jinx and I don't really believe in such things. But he locked up the Jets going to the playoffs at 8-3, he locked up the Mets with his stupid mo-mo bus last year. (just tryin' to lighten the mood around here, but that guy is seriously a jinx)
You'd really think the Mets would've learned their lesson with all these "specialists" last year in the pen. Feliciano hasn't gotten a righty out in 2 years. Either only let him face lefties or get him the hell off the team.
I don't know know why he took out either Santana or Parnell in that inning, this situational managing is terrible.
I just don't understand why Manuel won't allow Santana to pitch over 100 pitches. It baffles me. If anything, Santana seems to perform better with more work. Plus, it's not like he's a bullpen arm who may need to pitch tomorrow; it's guaranteed that he'll have 5 days of rest. Why do we keep getting these clueless in-game guys for manager?
Steve Phillips was always threatened by Valentine, of course, and we have to be honest - Bobby is an easy guy to hate, since he is so upfront about his belief that he's always the smartest guy in the room. I have to assume it's the same with Minaya - he wants someone as manager who won't challenge him.
Bobby isn't leaving Japan anytime soon. He's larger than life over there. His wife, I believe, still lives in the States and he still wont come back here, even for her.
As they eventually saw, he was actually out - yet another example of the reasons to not slide head-first.
