uh… I really don't see how. Smith was better as a rookie. Boyd could barely run the O. Geno wasnt great but looked a lot more capable from the outset and projects better as a pro prospect. thats not saying much, but how in the hell is boyd better?
Geno Smith can't hack it as a starting QB in the NFL.. Tajh Boyd can't hack it as a starting QB in the (something)FL and stood out like a sore thumb in an NFL PRACTICE as a guy who didn't belong. Big difference
So you're not getting a sense of a bias there? I want Mariota more than anyone but I'm not an Oregon alum. I'd take Winston in a second. _
I'm just curious why Stokes is so adamant about taking Mariota at 6 when a very similar player (little smaller and slower but stronger arm and quicker release) would still be available much later in the draft.
I said comparable I didn't say they are the same. Geno had success in NCAA for the exact reasons that you have given for Boyd. The difference is probably that one has a walnut in his skull and the other has a sunflower seed
Completely fair. Nobody knows one way or the other. Just those two. Allegations mean nothing. She's biased because she's an Oregon alum and loves Mariota (as do I) so she'll hate Winston for real or imagined slights. I have no such slights. He's a damn good QB. If he's a rapist I want nothing to do with him. How do we ever determine that? _
I saw both a LOT in college. Live and on TV. I saw Boyd as a superior player. Better arm, more accurate, 10x more athletic, 100x the leader. I saw Geno as an extremely limited player in college and, quite frankly, a dope. I was right on Geno and wrong on Boyd. So sue me. We're all just guessing here. _
