Have a sneaking suspicion this is for a 4th round pick. Goodbye Percy, got a slightly cheaper just as good/better reciever that fits the mold of a #1 versus a gadget type player. Generally, I'd say that this is good business, my main problem is that Marshall is 30 and by the time we are truly ready ro compete in a year or to he should be pretty heavy into his decline. Also, I'd say this takes us out of the running for Cooper or White. Cant complain too much tho, gotta respect the FO for being proactive in improving the team and allowing us to have a more focused approach to the draft. Probably speaking the obvious here but if no QB at 6 then pass rusher is the pick.
If we got him for no less than a 4th and he stays on good behavior, I think this is a great deal. However, staying on his best behavior is a big IF. This reminds me of the TONE deal. Could work out either way. We're do for some luck, aren't we?
Im guessing this in all likelihood cost us a 5th rounder if this is the case good move, now cut Percy and we still keep our top 4 picks
I'm all about this...allows us to draft a wr for the future and focus our money on offensive line and defense Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Wow... this came out of fucking no where. Marshall while slowing down is still a legit #1 and now Decker as a #2 with Kerley in the slot. I'm just curious what we gave up for him.
In terms of headcase WR's its similar but we were only able to get Holmes because he was 1 slip-up away from being suspended for a year. I think he was suspended for the first 4 games in 2010 anyways if I remember correctly. Plus Marshall and Holmes are the same age RIGHT NOW. That concerns me.
Good stuff. I know everyone keeps saying get Randall Cobb etc but what if he goes somewhere else (Raiders)? I like the deal a lot. Gives us draft day flexibility. One thing I do hope is that the second year on this deal doesn't count against the cap if we want to get rid of him. Anyone know that?
he has changed for the better since the move to chicago and gives the jets a legitimate playmaker at reciever i still wouldnt immediatley dismiss percy harvin though especially with the jets cap room a three headed monster of decker marshall and harvin would give whoever is at qb next yr a legit set of weapons for once
Marshall > Harvin Plus he takes up less space on the cap this year and this allows us to flip a 6th rd vs a 4th
Guys just so you all know this whole off the field Marshall concern is overblown. He hasn't had an off field incident in years. The guy has changed his ways. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Like I said, like the deal if its a 4 or 5. (have the feeling it will be a 5 this year with conditional next year). Depending on the draft board, I hope this doesn't take a WR off the board for us in the first two rounds. We still need to get a young, cheap WR.
